Jst wanna 2 ask some feedback / suggestion on my situation b4 i enroll YES.

- I dun plan 2 use any of the call/sms service
- Mainly for internet / data plan connection
- Consider light user bcoz I only turn it on 4 my MSN, surf net & FB.
- No youtube / music downloading (unless small video clip on FB)

Question:
YES suitable 4 me? Or any other suggestion?
If i plan 2 on MSN / FB all the time (6-8 hours), Wat's the usage charge?
I calculate more or less abt $50.

TQ in advance 1st smile.gif

If without the huddle, will I still be able to make calls?
*
no, because yes is simless base, no sim card. it need a wimax phone or a software called yes life(for pc,laptop or other phone) to work on phone call or sms.

Why so hard 1? YES is wimax just like P1. You can't use WIMAX except for their device.

YES is not 3g. Not phone is working right now. COMING SOON is samsung phone.

Now only got USB Dongle and MIFI device. Call can be made through Windows only. MAC Coming SOON. Ipod/IPad/IPhone NO NEWS AT ALL.

I went to their site.

Essentially:

1. YTL WIMAX is NOT a replacement for a fixed line service.

2. 4GB usage (cheapest rates, including all rebates) will cost you RM86.01.

Installing windows and updating all your software will cost RM50+ in bandwidth alone!
Streamyx doesnt seem so bad anymore does it?
*
sure, streamyx belong to tm, tm belong to Government. so it focus only provide broadband to whole malaysian, but not focus on profit. so it can provide lower price. because even it didn't have any profit, government will use our money to help tm.

other company no profit, will go to bankrupt lo...

icon_rolleyes.gif YES indeed is coming up with a special ‘Add On’ program with the launch of Yes Zoom, our home gateway, in January. Zoom and this ‘Add on’ program caters to more high usage consumers who use more than 7 GB per month. We’ll give more competitive edge.

Details will be out by launch day.
icon_rolleyes.gif So stay tune.....hope this is some happy news for the heavy downloaders. rclxm9.gif  rclxm9.gif

It always seem that way. YTL seems to like to go in big on launch. After that execution suxs. What's the use of advertisement when the sales & service counter are not up to expectation. I think all we are asking for  is quality and not quantity.

If anyone is hearing from YTL, check out Lowyat forum on customer grouses. This is Malaysia number 1 forum.

Secondly, please update the website to be more intuitive and spend less $$$ on paper advertisement.
*
agree that, their yes website is just too simple, seem like a student project, no money to make a better website?

I agree fair use policy is good.  But I do not agree about saying no fair use policy and everyone pps/torrent will cause server congestion or stuff.  If TMNET does not have enough bandwidth or processing power on their routers/switches/server end; they should upgrade instead of blaming users for doing P2P.

So if TM blocks P2P totally and then there's slow down still, you guys gonna say people email or surf too much?

Nonsense... If you do not have a big head, do not wear a big HAT.
*
Hey bro, do you know calculation? Email can take much bandwidth than p2p? i email to 1000 people not reach your 1% of p2p. The internet slow because of p2p, why not email, surf web? because p2p is connect is non-stop, just like your every second go to refresh your page. How much bandwidth need to feed p2p? Malaysia got million people online, need million bandwidth ah? There is no free lunch in this world, can you go to 5 star hotel, then you said i want fried rice rm5. where got rm5 fried rice in 5 star hotel? This is same, you want use more bandwidth, but unwilling to pay more... this is call selfish altitude, because they think the internet is their bapa punya. the internet is public 1, all sharing, dun wan because you pay rm88 per month means you can own the internet, other also pay rm88 too!!

I've just got my yes go dongle with extra credit RM20 top up at lot 10 few hours back.
i installed connect manager (latest 1.4 something) and start using it for few testing like speedtest and youtube.
It worked just fine for me coz i'm able to get 2 to 3 bars and around 2MB down speed.
But it suddenly go no line with no signal bar shown and i'm unable to browse the net anymore.
i restart my PC and it seems worked with it's signal bars appears but only a few minutes later it goes NO line again. I restarted few times and it stills same problem happened.
I checked my account which still have left Rebate balance RM8.75 and account balance RM20.
Could it be my device faulty or YES line problem in my area (setapak) ??
*
did you installed the latest connect software from website?

My area is near NS highway but unfortunately not near enough to be in the NS higway YES coverage area. (see picture)
Wondering can I use an external antenna and install it at my apartment roof so that i am able to receive the mirowave transmittion signal from the NS highway coverage area. (i am at the top floor apartment, no problem for me to climb up to the roof and secretly install a microwave antenna there)

Any one know if  uploaded data counted as usage ?
I wonder how data heavy is Skype call when both sides connected but not talking and the back ground sound continues on both ends ?
I have the feeling that leaving the Skype connection on without talking will also eat out my YES credit.
*
bro, you call your friend's with your mobile phone, but you didn't speak anything, did telco charge you? you tell them that, i didn't speak anything, why you charge me?

QUOTE(dchk @ Mar 4 2011, 02:44 PM)
Bro MonkeyKing,

I'm interested in the Zoom package but confuse with the pricing. It mentions there Zoom for RM399 but free with bundled price and credit of RM1199. In that case, how much do I need to pay and how long is this package for? How is that different to value pack RM68.

Yes Marketing team is really confusing.

Also one more thing. My location is at Kota Kemuning, Shah Alam. Even though the website claims coverage is there, what happens if I do not get any converage?
*
Brother, this is simple as other company iphone4 plan.

There is two value pack only,
1. RM68/3.5GB(monthly) + 150Min(voice call) + 150(sms)
2.RM150/10GB(monthly) + 250Min(voice call) + 250(sms)

i think they value pack is available for those already have usb wimax modem or the huddle, this also apply to the zoom too.

Reragd the zoom and the buzz, is sold separate

Zoom - RM399
Buzz - Rm499

or...

You pay RM1,199(You will get the free Zoom or Buzz) ,also you still have Rm1,199 credit can use. Just like last time huddle plan, rm399 get free huddle + Rm399 credit.
