i dont agree with your post at all,.

In Penang , Yes did provide the whole ISLAND  coverages very well before they launch,. u mobile coverages in penang is such a mess, not to mention the speed u can get the 42Mbps is very limited,

if u get YES,in anywhere under coverages  all u need to do is get a USB extension cable and place your Go dongle at window, if u get 4 bar above, u able to get 10Mbps - 18 Mbps,.. is different case for u mobile,. not all user can get 10-18Mbps under 42Mbps coverages area,

plus Yes is soon going to wimax generation 2,.
*
guess u miss the part about Klang Valley. One thing is true, all ISP has a theoretical max speed, but only achieves 1/3 if they are lucky. While I do not dispute Yes speed, I am mostly making a point on the bandwidth allocation in terms of cost per MB.

if we are lucky and Yes does take note of their competitor, than we should expect Yes to come up with a better package such as RM68 - 7GB.

Wishful thinking anyway for now.

Nobody care what is the theorectical max speed, what the advertisement or even package stated how fast is the speed.
Users only care what is the speed they are getting, what they are experiencing and that's why people posted in this topic.

For me if there is valuepack Rm68 - 5GB is good enough already.

Possible, if competition intensify.
Now we see, Celcom got RM68 - 4GB.

careful cherroy, aneip don't like us stating fact. else, we will be accuse as sales person.

i saw what u did. i ignored aneip's post regarding proof for 42mbps speed.
when it comes around, do post speedtest to prove ur point. thx. till then,
dun act like u know lots. yes isnt as exaggerating as umobile, at least yes has been honest, 3x-5x speed of 3g

= 7.2mbps x3
= 21.8mbps.

and yes, their theoretical speed is achievable in lot 10, their hq.
*
Honestly, I am not concern about the theoretical speed. It really depends on your location even in Klang Valley. As you so rightly put it, U can achieve 42Mbps at Time Square and so can Yes at Lot 10.

What I am stressing is the package they are providing in terms of MB to $$$ . Again, I do not doubt the speed from Yes or U. Cause is is by leaps and bound what TM has provided (suppressed) us all these years. All, I am saying is I hope Yes can start to provide a better value package and hopefully increase their value and retain their local customers.

Oh, on your request for SpeedTest, that is somewhat useless. Here is why. I place Zoom modem on ground floor of living room for almost 4 months due to central locality of my other WIFI devices. Achieved DL 3MB and UP 1.5 consistently. Then, 2 months ago, I moved Zoom modem to 1st floor family hall, and I achieve DL 7MB and UP 3MB consistenly. So SpeedTest only tells one part of the story. Other things like elevation (I guess) apart from the strong signal coverage seems to have different effect on Speedtest reading.

One thing that you have or have not realized, Yes has not been very honest with their subscribe base. For instance, 2 other competitor, which I dare not say whistling.gif at least allows new customers to get a refund for a 7 days cooling period. Instead, Yes has subjected new subscribes to at least buy their started pack at RM100, to go and test and no refund is given. After that, Yes will report that their subscribes base has increased dramatically when these users may have dump their account due to poor quality in terms of coverage or speed or reliable connectivity.

And there are other areas as well that Yes has unscrupulously tried to create an fictitious subscribe base. But again, some members here are not having ACTUAL customers like me to voice the truth. Now, I guess they may be paid Yes cyber troopers to quench any discontent or honest comments of customers.

Sorry if you have no tie with u mobile.  There is many post by forumer which are not genuine. Coming into competitor thread and put word with not a goods intention. What trigger my attention when you compare 42 with 15.. That's is not fair. I been to lot 10. As far as I remember the speedtest there around 5-15. Never reah 20.

But truly, I wanna know also what the average speed for 42 3G speed. I really interested with broadband. I can simply subscribe to a broaband only to know how its perform. That my interest.

The latest 1 is maxis hspa+.. Can reach 5-7mbps. I believe the theory speed is 21mbps. With dual cell u mobile that should be around 10-15mbps. Maybe will try out when I getting u mobile prepaid. Galaxy tab 10.1 is ready for testing.
*
apology accepted.

nonetheless, i am trying to state the fact about package and not the speed. if u realize, in some other countries, speed under 20Mbps is considered just entry level broadband. but here in Malaysia, we are satisfied already if we get a consistent 5MB. maybe in the next 5 years, our demand for speed increases and we can hope to see 5 fold speed increase or more.

maybe with more hoo haa, Yes will start noticing and start giving more competitive package. I believe in the end, the one to benefit is us.

Added on September 26, 2011, 2:14 pmOn a different news, got excited this morning when say Yes announce Yes for Android. But at last, it is just the app. When is the claimed Yes Android phone coming.

Anyone here attempted to hack the Yes Zoom Router. Don't seems to be anyway to open the router as there is no screws anywhere. Wish Yes put more quality in the router with stronger WIFI signal throughput.

Anyone here uses Skype or other video conferencing software. Just take note, your bandwidth will be quickly used up in matters of minutes if you are not paying attention.

As an example, I used DuMeter to check my bandwidth utilization especially when using Skype. They have a stopwatch feature that check upload and download used. In a normal Skype Video Conference averaging 20 minutes, the total upload and download data used is about 350MB.

However, prior to Skype Video Conference, I have also check my Yes account on www.yes.my to check available data (purchased from Value Pack). After end, of Skype Video Conference, upon checking www.yes.my again, it will state that I have used up around 500MB.

Not sure where the disparity is, but I am also fed up with reporting to Yes Support or the lack of it. Anyway, just take note of your bandwidth allocated when using Skype.

Yes, you can. I have 2 Zooms and 1 Go Dongle using same Yes Id. Just beware of the data usage.

hi guys,

i just subscribed to yes 4g just 3 days ago, already checked my coverage (its covered) but i can barely get any stable signal. how do i terminate my account? can i actually visit their flagship store in lot 10 to do it?
*
You can't. Just use out your remaining credit. Yes does not have a 7 days policy return like P1. If you are lucky, you can try to sell your Dongle on Lowyat for a lower fee and get you $$$$ back.

Did anyone try the web access for Zoom?
Please share.
Billion Thanks
*
Are you referring to remote access management?

If yes, it is quite simple, but poorly documented by Yes.

Firstly, just maintain the port 8080.

Check enable remote management.

Also, make sure you get a free dyns service.

Once that is all setup, u can access remotely from anywhere

Remember to use https and explicityly state port number

Eg.

https://myhome.freedns.tv:8080

if i dint finish my credict will it burn ?

thats all i want to ask thanks.

If you still have credit in terms of $$$, than it will get deducted RM30 each month until no credit left.

If you still have credit in terms of data base on purchase from Value Pack, it will become 0 MB after 30 days even if you have data credit left. Unless of course you reload another Value Pack.

it's 3 months to be exact. I totally agree that it should be forever.

As for Value Pack auto renewal, it's possible to use Yes credits that are already in your account. It's just that you need to set up your credit card details first. You should have the option to choose Yes credits in the auto renewal configuration. I've done it. wink.gif
*
Personally, 3 months rebate or forever is not sufficient given the high cost we are paying for the bandwidth. Especially for heavy users.

bro
I asked before, how you ended up with ID with 4 VP each? that casued you lots of money leh?
or that were given to you free.

the 4 VP you can only sell it to,
(1) new user, or
(2) existing user who need to top up now or few days from today and dont mind using the new number.

Please be reminded that should you sell this ID to other users, please make sure they change the account holder name, or else you will bear all the consequences of other people using your ID.

example, use the ID to make phone call for illega activities, Ah long, ransom. threatern people.....etc.
and this will be deemed as you have done that.

Let me guess. Bought from Mika.
