hi tech, from what i understand, only different devices can connect to the same account at same time, ie if u have 1 zoom, 1 huddle and 1 go, u can connect all to same account.
but if 2 go or 2 huddle or 2 zoom cannot.

@dinwaja in office lerr...
*
Not correct. I have 2 Zoom and 1 Go dongle. It works.

To all Yes subscribes, to safe guard your self against any usage dispute, I would suggest that every 2-3 days, you check you usage on Yes website. Do take screenshot as evidence. Even after using their service for 4 months, I still get shocking result on the usage every now and then.

For instance, from start of 1-Jul to 26-Jul, I have check my total usage detail to be around 1.2GB. Today when I check my total usage detail from 1-Jul to 27-Jul, I saw a shocking increase to 3GB. What is weird was the additional 1.8GB was recorded on 18-Jul, which never appeared before.

Their system is really out of order. From experience, their call centre personnel and technical personnel that does the follow up does not know the root cause and cannot give a good explanation.

I believe as consumer we should take the evidence and complaint to MCMC. Yes service provider is totally ignorant as an ISP.

Did any one experience poor call quality with Yes Life? I have called a Digi  number in Kedah and Celcom number in Ipoh, both also complaint that hearing the sound like robot, =.=''. And also delay in SMS sending, a message send on 9 something pm, reach the phone on 3am next day, zzzz.
*
Experiencing the same but using the normal phone connected to Zoom modem. 2 type of test. I tried calling from overseas to Yes phone line. Intermittent sound quality. Sometimes, it rings but after a few ring in goes into voice mail. But on the phone side, no actual ringing happens. I can see and hear this as I can see via CCTV. The same goes when I tried to call from the phone to overseas line. Bad quality sometimes, cannot even call.

To sum up, Yes service is a total crap. If you want to have better quality, while connect to Yes, just use Skype. The price is even cheaper as well.

QUOTE(aneip @ Aug 2 2011, 06:47 PM)
Don't go for multi month commitment when it's come to wireless broadband.

P1 will be more cheaper if the speed is good for you.

BTW, there is not P1 2Gb plan for RM99,

RM99 will get you 15GB with 2Mbps speed.

As for YES, the speed is terrific. Only the quota you need to watch out. The 10GB package will come at RM150 with additional voice/sms bundle.
*
Depending on your location, the download speed for YES is around 3MB. Tested in location such as Kelana Jaya, Kemuning Utama and KLIA. Area such as USJ 11, speed is deplorable at 0.5MB.

On the bundle package, the voice feature is not usable. That is base on the numerous drop call quality, call degradation, ringing tone ending up at voice mail 50% of the time. From a perspective of IDD to cellular to fixed line, is has to be the worse of the lot.

All, this is tested on a stationary Zoom modem plug to a normal phone.

However, I cannot comment for P1. This is an honest review after 4 month of usage.

QUOTE(ReVolVolution @ Aug 2 2011, 09:28 PM)
So, if compare on speed between P1 and YES, YES would be better?

To me, am just an average user. No gaming, just FB and occasional YouTube and movie downloads. With the basic plan of p1 - 384kbps speed, it's quite good but can forget about YouTube and downloading movies as it's gonna take forever!

That's why I need to upgrade my package.

If in terms of value, both are quite competitive but I guess being the new kid on the block, YES would have an added advantage. The only thing I don't like about YES is that it's prepaid and the amount is not small, ie rm1190 even though got credit and rebates.

I would want the data plan only as I don't think I'll be using this as my call line.

Added on August 2, 2011, 9:30 pm

Wow! From 3mbps to 0.5mbps!!! That's quite a huge difference.

Have you tried bandar kinrara puchong?
*
Have not tried bandar kinrara. Sorry.

Added on August 3, 2011, 12:32 pmIn theory, what YES has to offer is good if there is more accountability and better technical support.

Here is a simple example on lowest package for multiple location

Parent home, using Streamyx 512Kb for RM90 every month.
Own home, using Streamyx 512Kb for RM90 every month.

That is RM180 each month. If you use Streamyx 1MB that is RM110. For 2 home, that is RM220.

If you use Yes with Zoom package,
Parent home + Own home for Value Pack 10Gb equal to RM150. Of course the initial lay out is for 2 Zoom modem. Of course, you also enjoy the voice pack as well.

What you safe is RM30 + better speed (depending on location)

Only trouble is the voice is bad. As for the bandwidth, it is difficult to track.

Here is a case in point. Bare in mind, I did not subscribe to value package. Just PAYU. I also check my usage on a daily basis through their web site.

On May, after using for 1 month, my data usage was recorded as 1MB. However, I know very well that I have surf youtube for streaming video. After consulting YES support, they cannot answer me and so I just close and eye.

But on June, suddenly I was tracking the usage as usual until nearing end of the month. Usage was 1GB which was fine for me. Suddenly, the next day I notice I have 1.8GB used on a certain date which was not reported earlier.

So, it is difficult to argue as well as prove who is wrong.

call the technical and ask them to come over to ur place to check.

Wow, since when does Yes support team do house call. Just trying to get them on the call center is difficult enough already. After that they will ask me to raise a ticket via email which I have to wait for 3 weeks for a respond (each with trying to follow up with a cut & paste email respond) and then nothing happen.

simply if u can afford of course yes is way better than p1,.. p1 is super congested is most of the place now, and customer service sucks big time too,

well at least yes do provide the speed promise,.. which p1 is not...
*
I think that depends on the number of subscribe on the geographical location. Since there is no actual statistic on number of subscribe on a certain location, it is difficult to compare if Yes or P1 is better. Over time, we will come to know. I think for P1, if they have a huge customer base, it should not be difficult to increase bandwidth.

As mention by one of the member, they can get 8MB with P1 some time ago. So, with more subscribe bandwidth will get sparse. So, only by increasing bandwidth can they solve the problem.

dude, if u can come to our store, then u can ask for this whether have or not. we do have on-site services for this.

wrong. 24 months 0% interest installment plan.

Here is my experience when I first went to Lot 10 for the customer service. This was back when I wanted to subscribe for Yes. Before that, I called Yes call center, but couldn't get an answer about coverage. When I went to Lot 10 eventually, I asked the customer service. The told me my place is a possible blind spot and discourage me to subscribe Yes.

So, if you asked me on-site service, that is a waste of time getting stuck in traffic and paying for parking.

I took the chance since I know if it doesn't work I can use it at my parents place. However, it did work at my place nonetheless. Oh, I am referring to the Internet. The voice unfortunately, is a 50-50 chance success rate.

I am not trying to discourage potential customers, but I think they have the right to know about the service level given.

Added on August 3, 2011, 5:22 pmOh, I think there is a way to circumvent Yes to get unlimited bandwidth and only need to pay minimum RM30 only each month. While I have tried to be honest to report the case, the technical team is clueless even after their investigation. Already paying 2 months minimum RM30 commitment fee.
I wonder how many subscribers have hit this jackpot.

The worst part about Yes is their indiscriminate billing. And as consumer we seems to be helpless about it. I even reported this to MCMC, but both parties also 'tidak apa attitude'.

Anyone here using Zoom. Just wanted to see if anyone has tried to link up the Zoom router to a more powerful wireless router. I realise the Zoom wireless signal is not strong enough. Thus, I have purchase a Asus RT-N16 router. Then, I have turn off the wireless option in Zoom and plug a LAN cable from Zoom to Asus WAN port.

The problem I am facing is Zoom has a WAN IP address and local IP address like 192.168.1.x. After connecting both Zoom and Asus, the Asus will asume another IP address range like 192.168.2.x. It will then be allocated a WAN IP address from Zoom such as 192.168.1.100

Thus, if I try to enable DDNS on Asus, it will register WAN IP address as 192.168.1.100 which is just a local IP address instead a valid WAN IP address.

My family uses about 10GB per week.  Is the best plan to simply keep topping up using VP150?  Is there a cheaper option for large-bandwidth users?
*
If your usage is so high, I think Unifi is better. Biz5 allows unlimited data. Yes, mostly for usage at maximum 10GB a month.

Hi all,

I am planning to subscribe Yes. However I am having a doubt here. Can I make voice call if I bought the Huddle device?

Appreciate your feedback. Thank you.
*
Forget about Yes voice call. I have a Zoom router with a phone jack. When I tried to call out, it always gives problem. Yes strength is mostly on the fast Internet speed. Sad to say, but they could really have blown the competition. I guess that is why until today, they have not release any other phone besides the lame ass Buzz.

The problem is that we live in Melaka and don't have UniFi or even Streamyx 4MB yet...Yes is the only thing above the lame Streamyx 1MB in our area.
*
I find it quite weird. Are you sure with Streamyx 1MB, you can fully use 10GB of data 1 week.

Make sure they enable the voice service for you. I experienced the same, can receive call but calling out is problematic. After calling their helpdesk, only discovered voice service is not enabled in my package.
*
I was able to call sometimes. So, I am pretty sure the voice is enable. But the quality is bad.

U-mobile is coming into the broadband scene as well. And their speed is 42MBps instead of Yes 16MBps. For RM68 you get 5GB from U. Instead of pathetic RM68 for 3.5GB from Yes. If they can provide that speed realistically, Yes is far from cheaper and fast. I am playing a wait and see game.

The also have a RM128 - 20GB as compared to RM150 - 10GB.

If Yes, wants to compete, they got to do better. Only thing I can say is, perhaps on coverage, they may lose out. But those of us in Klang Valley, are pretty safe.
