if only everyone was like you wink.gif

Yes 4G's value proposition currently is speed. Time is money.

Downloading at 2mb++ vs 10mb++, imagine a download that should only take 30 mins but ends up taking 2.5 hours to complete.

Now imagine doing it at 11:30PM...which affects what time you sleep...

And imagine paying the same price for the download...
*
That's installer uploaded by me extracted from the dongle itself. Nothing wrong to warned people but you can help to verify this by provided MD5 for the installer file in ur dongle.

Just wanna help others.

RM500 way too high for me, but you did mention that credit balance can go for negative. what does it mean? if i didn't reload, then will continue owe till when?
*
Keep it simple, if you don't reload for 2 month. On the 3rd month you reload they will deduct for 2 month you didn't use 1st.

This is YES. No validity date, no reload expiry. YES we just deduct RM30 every month. YES, no exception. You reload or not reload, YES we just deduct ur money.

YTL speed is great pricing also OK.

Something I do need the speed coz I download a lots of os software for setup. When at client site, let's say you forgot to bring the CD, now you can get is over the net is a few minutes.

Just hoping they lower the RM30 requirement.

Because big corporation got money to spend. Big corporation tend to buy SSL certificate for RM3k from verisign where you can get is for RM50 from cheapssl.

Firewall is just a simple software or hardware which allowed or block access to or from the internet.

There are many software out there which connect to the internet on their own. Mostly for update.

Don't worry too much.

Put something like zonealarm firewall.. It's will ask you permission for any internet access required by any software.. and it's free.

im interested to get this service, but im confuse with the hardware type. basically do we need to use a usb slot when using the doggle (RM99). if this is the case, then it's kinda hard for me to use it anywhere. I wanted to use this service for my hp only. so which hardware shd i use?
*
USB Dongle for use with computer running windows or mac osx.

For HP, if you HP can support wifi then you can use hurdle (399).

I will not use YES until there are wimax router available at a reasonable price.
Because with a router, i can put in a hardware firewall.

Without a hardware firewall between the modem and Windows operating system, my computer could infected with Malware/Trojan anytime and become a Zombie compurter anytime.
*
Why so obsessed with hardware firewall? Just use any software firewall is more than enough.

I was just mooching around the Yes website. It seems they changed their content, and added some new info. Much better info than before, I think. And I was looking at their IDD rates.... all I can say is WOW.

To Singapore: 9 sen/min for both mobile and fixed

to compare with Digi which I am using now... 18 sen for fixed, 43 sen for mobile.

To UK: 9 sen/min for fixed, 72 sen for mobile

to compare with Digi again, 18 sen fixed, 93 sen mobile.

USA: 9 sen for fixed....
Canada: 9 sen for fixed and mobile
China: 9 sen for both
Hong Kong: 9 sen
Germany: 9 sen

Wow. Seriously. I'm going to try calling a cousin in Singapore tomorrow, this is seriously wow.
*
Don't compare VOIP with GSM call rate.

This if from pennytel.com/my and they exists years ago. You should call your cousin years ago.

in RM
Singapore 0.02844
Singapore Mobile 0.02844
United States 0.05056
United States Mobile 0.05056
Hong Kong 0.06004
Hong Kong Mobile 0.05056

hmm.... without hardware firewall, i use Linux Fedora 12.
But than need to re-format harddisk re-install Fedora once very few days! (lucky it is very easy to re-install Fedora)
I am very paranoid about malware and Trojan nowaday!
*
Really dun understand you man.. Why need to re-install? I give you a couple of suggestion already.

1 - Software firewall.
2 - Dedicated surfing machine. Atom? cheaper than hardware firewall and portable. Even you got malware or full of virus, you don't have to care. Just re-image from backup.

I add as you said youre using fedora.

3 - Dual boot. no need to reinstall.

Why you so afraid of malware or trojan? Do you have important jobs in the computer that worth thousand or even million? If so, than it really needs dedicated machine.. Without internet/network connection.

If you just a home user, free Microsoft Security Essential is good enough.

What worse you heard malware/trojan can do? Does is happen to you?

Wow! I didn't know that! rclxms.gif This Pennytel thing sounds very interesting. Is the RM15 per month a service charge, or minimum usage like Yes?
The free for all buffet style internet service is unsustainable. Eventually, we'll see all telcos shift to some form of PAYU model in the future, just like how electricty and water are being billed now. Both electric and water are finite resources, so is bandwidth.

*
It's PAYU. Most voip provider is PAYU. This is only voice service. You needs Internet access to use.

No minimun usage also. Needs SIP client run. But is everywhere now, Most nokia phone got (E series usually). Iphone also got app for SIP.

Also got multiple package. AUD5/month you can get free call for certain country (sg + my included) if I not mistaken. Forgot already.

My package (not available already I belive), Pay AUD5 (one time) and get 03 no for incoming call + per call rate to xx country. Sg included but no my. It's about 8 cent (AUD) per call (not per minute).

But you need wired connection to have good latency (no delay) since the server in AUS. wish they have local server here.

Jaring also got, known as MY015. But now they not really push the product.

The don't need credit expiry coz they already required you to pay 30/month. If you don't pay, the still deduct when you reload. Dunno how long below they terminate ur service.

YTL is targeting different group than P1. Most people interested with P1 will not attracted with YTL. Nobody will want to pay for RM 450+ for 15GB which P1 offer for 130. Unless they want to go for speed (which I believe will not last long).

One fellow I talked with said this to me when we were discussing Yes: You take 1 hour to download a movie on Yes, but take 2 days to download on other telco. So you get it 47 hours earlier. Now lets say if someone ask you to refund back your 47 hours of your life how much would you charge them? I think this way of thinking makes sense.....

*
When talking there are multiple way of thinking. A reason, willingness, value and so on. Sometime 1 + 1 can be 11 rather than 2. RM 100 maybe get you a dinner but for someone else maybe 1 week of dinner.

As for your point, I would said rather than wasting 1 hour of your life, RM 120 (4GB) of your money, RM 50 for a movie (Does anyone know the price to be paid to download a movie legally??) I would said drop at speedy and get the Bluray which is legal + 50GB of content for RM 100.

Also, you paid RM120 for your 1 hour of download on YES but RM88 a month which can download 100GB/month. That's RM 3000 on YES.
