QUOTE(ReVolVolution @ Aug 2 2011, 04:42 PM) guys, Don't go for multi month commitment when it's come to wireless broadband.am an existing user of P1 WiMax. Currently, am quite ok with their speed. Thinking of upgrading as am on basic package. So, which one is better? P1 Wimax 2Gb plan at RM 99 or YES 5Gb plan prepaid at RM1199!!!??? P1 will be more cheaper if the speed is good for you. BTW, there is not P1 2Gb plan for RM99, RM99 will get you 15GB with 2Mbps speed. As for YES, the speed is terrific. Only the quota you need to watch out. The 10GB package will come at RM150 with additional voice/sms bundle. |

QUOTE(ReVolVolution @ Aug 2 2011, 09:28 PM) So, if compare on speed between P1 and YES, YES would be better? The average speed of YES around 1-2Mbps even you get Red signal. 1 Bar.. Just tested at my home town in Kelantan. Yes, they do have coverage there. To me, am just an average user. No gaming, just FB and occasional YouTube and movie downloads. With the basic plan of p1 - 384kbps speed, it's quite good but can forget about YouTube and downloading movies as it's gonna take forever! That's why I need to upgrade my package. If in terms of value, both are quite competitive but I guess being the new kid on the block, YES would have an added advantage. The only thing I don't like about YES is that it's prepaid and the amount is not small, ie rm1190 even though got credit and rebates. I would want the data plan only as I don't think I'll be using this as my call line. Added on August 2, 2011, 9:30 pm Wow! From 3mbps to 0.5mbps!!! That's quite a huge difference. Have you tried bandar kinrara puchong? The problem is, 3GB is to small when it's come to youtube. 1 think 1 weeks can finish. As you said, you don't use youtube because of the speed, but once you have the speed then it's will be a different story. I prefer P1 because of the fixed monthly fee. Unless the money is not problem. The problem with P1 is its congested in most of the places. 1 year ago I can get 8Mbps in Kelantan. But now is averaging around 0.5 Mbps. But my friend still enjoying more then 5Mbps in Bangi. YES have lower entry pack also.. No need 1K.. Just get RM100 dongle. Even less in Garage Sell. Use it for a few months. If you can manage to use lower than P1 than continue la.. |

Agreed on 4G terms, it's not really bothering me as a consumer... It more marketing term rather than a standard.
Even though wimax is standardize, but we can't seems to use p1 device on YES right. Even intel built in is un-usable on YES. As for end-user this seems not really be a problem. Never heard a case when somebody buying 4G phone an expected to run on malaysia 4G network. The device now seems to be depended to the network. |

QUOTE(dchk @ Sep 11 2011, 12:36 PM) Anyone here using Zoom. Just wanted to see if anyone has tried to link up the Zoom router to a more powerful wireless router. I realise the Zoom wireless signal is not strong enough. Thus, I have purchase a Asus RT-N16 router. Then, I have turn off the wireless option in Zoom and plug a LAN cable from Zoom to Asus WAN port. The problem I am facing is Zoom has a WAN IP address and local IP address like 192.168.1.x. After connecting both Zoom and Asus, the Asus will asume another IP address range like 192.168.2.x. It will then be allocated a WAN IP address from Zoom such as 192.168.1.100 Thus, if I try to enable DDNS on Asus, it will register WAN IP address as 192.168.1.100 which is just a local IP address instead a valid WAN IP address. Disable Asus dns.. Put Asus ip same subnet, such Aa 192.168.1.2, connect zoom to Asus LAN port. Not wan port. Asus will be bridge device. No function will be used, such as portforward or ddns. Added on September 11, 2011, 7:00 pmOps.. Not Asus dns, Asus dhcp. This post has been edited by aneip: Sep 11 2011, 07:00 PM |

If P1 got good speed then go with P1.. Cheaper than YES. But make sure you take the package without a contract.. In 1 month, a lot of thing can happen with wireless broadband.. Increase subscriber, new building block, re-arrange antenna and so on.. So, when the speed is degrade than just move on..

QUOTE(lee1966 @ Sep 18 2011, 02:02 AM) Is it true, "Go 4G Doggle" starter kit does not come with free YesMail? Don't think it's true.. The device should be separated with account. The account should be the same regardless whether you using Go, Zoom or Hurdle.I bought that early this week, pay RM100, try to login for YesMail, but unsuccessful. Send email to their customer service, and got a reply saying "Go 4G Doggle" did not come with FREE YesMail. In the brochure and its website says it come with FREE YesMail. I am confused. Is that true? If this the case, it is blatant lie on their part. Anybody can help me on this. Thanks alot. Added on September 18, 2011, 4:00 pm QUOTE(Mika @ Sep 18 2011, 12:01 PM) Since YES has no Contract but a "hidden RM30 T&C", why not terminate account after 30-Days. New account required Rm50 activation fee. After that get a NEW account, where NEW account have better offer & no contract. You can see many other isp/telco ask you sign package with 1 or 2 Year contract, then after you sign a package next few months come out with even better offer & promotions. You cannot change or terminate it. So, YES customer has the benefit of changing to a better offer & promotions since there is no contract & only for 30-Days. QUOTE(Mika @ Sep 18 2011, 08:41 PM) No Need. FREE RM50 Activation Fee for YES Promotion Package. You mean YES Starter pack ID? RM50 with free RM9 credit? That's almost the same as RM50 activation fee except you get RM9 free credit. So still cost RM41.Same as those Celcom, Digi, Maxis, Streamyx, UniFi, UMobile always having FREE Activation/Installation Fee but most of them have contract not like YES. |

QUOTE(dchk @ Sep 23 2011, 03:48 PM) U-mobile is coming into the broadband scene as well. And their speed is 42MBps instead of Yes 16MBps. For RM68 you get 5GB from U. Instead of pathetic RM68 for 3.5GB from Yes. If they can provide that speed realistically, Yes is far from cheaper and fast. I am playing a wait and see game. You are? U mobile sale person? Technical guy? Dealer? Its not working like that in this forum. Don't crash other thread and say something like this and thinking somebody will take ur word. The also have a RM128 - 20GB as compared to RM150 - 10GB. If Yes, wants to compete, they got to do better. Only thing I can say is, perhaps on coverage, they may lose out. But those of us in Klang Valley, are pretty safe. Open proper thread and provide a proof. 42mbps is theory speed. Most probably you will get 1/2 of it.. Added on September 24, 2011, 1:36 am QUOTE(bloxxzone @ Sep 23 2011, 10:05 AM) help me guys.. @dhck
Sorry if you have no tie with u mobile. There is many post by forumer which are not genuine. Coming into competitor thread and put word with not a goods intention. What trigger my attention when you compare 42 with 15.. That's is not fair. I been to lot 10. As far as I remember the speedtest there around 5-15. Never reah 20. But truly, I wanna know also what the average speed for 42 3G speed. I really interested with broadband. I can simply subscribe to a broaband only to know how its perform. That my interest. The latest 1 is maxis hspa+.. Can reach 5-7mbps. I believe the theory speed is 21mbps. With dual cell u mobile that should be around 10-15mbps. Maybe will try out when I getting u mobile prepaid. Galaxy tab 10.1 is ready for testing. |

I believe they can only separate voip + data traffic for their own device. Means for zoom and buzz only.
As for yes life + huddle hardly they will configure this properly. Coz yes life will go through Internet traffic rather than private network. |
