Ahhh... I guess I will skip the 6" component set since I have to modify my door.

In that case I see that a 4" coaxial speaker is good enough, for me at least smile.gif

And then adding an active sub also, and not chaning the HU.

Is that OK, didineo ?

is ok, but don't expect a huge improvement la... smile.gif but for sure the bass will better than original myvi...

Yes. I definitely want to improve the original sucky sound system but do not wish to modify the car heavily...

I tink front go for a comp would be good haha, rather than coaxial, afterall u already got active sub, u dun reli need the 4 inch to help u produce bass

Ohhh... but nevertheless, if to just change the original speaker to a 4" coaxial speaker it will have a slightly little bit of improvement in performance.

Would you agree with that ? Or in your opinion, just do not bother about changing the 4" speaker at all.

Meaning at the end I just add an active sub.

Oh my god sorry for all the noob questions. And thank you very much for answering them.

I personal opinion on Myvi is....
They have very clear highs and mids....
The LOW boom boom is NOT even there...
So adding a sub first is a wiser choice than changing to ANOTHER coaxial speaker... I don't see a point here...
If i were you, IF I want to change the front speaker to make it sound better, I'll save up and get a 6.5" Component straight up... No second thoughts...

Again...
That's only my thoughts...

I didn't say anything about budget.
I was just saying, IF I WERE HIM, I would not change the Coaxial cause it won't make much difference.

Adding a Sub, no matter active or passive, would make a bigger difference.

AGAIN, that's only my thoughts

1 cent opinion.

Cheers

em, yes u can install an active sub 1st, then jz add a pair of tweeter, don't bother the 4'speaker. u will feel the improvement too.
tweeter plays an important role.
coaxial systems also have tweeter, jz the tweeter is place in the same driver of the mid range. u can hear the improvements too.. biggrin.gif

Thank you for the input.

Yes, I have been advised to take a 6.5" component speaker too. But been put off due to the fact that I have to cut a hole on the door and installing it, and yet costing another rm400.

So decided to do the way the way that has less mod.

Ohhh okok... cuz coaxial set has the tweeter and the speaker together right...

and now adding the tweeter will be like making it a coaxial set...

ICE is finally making some senses to me now ! biggrin.gif

Focal is the brand right if I am not wrong ?

I saw from your other thread.

Focal --- Polyglass 100CV1

Is this the one that you are referring it to ? Or is it not even 4" ? rclxub.gif

didineo,

You were suggesting me to get tweeter, but there are so many kinds of tweeter, randing from RM10 to RM200. Can you please advise on what kind of tweeter is good ? I saw from some website saying the higher the Ohm the better ?

Don't have to be the best. Good enough to play with the original myvi HU and the speaker, and also the active sub...

don't get expensive 1, coz u don't hav crossover.. so no point if u get an expensive 1. component set is including a pasive crossover, so i if u wan better sound, go for component, if don't wan component, get a normal tweeter. smile.gif
