A question. How many lines can a house or apartment have? Is Unifi a different thing altogether and not using the streamyx line?

QUOTE(Eoma @ Jul 27 2010, 07:57 PM) Unifi for landed houses will employ Fiber to the Home (FTTH) technology, so TM will lay and pull a fiber optic cable to your house. Which means for apartments I can only have one connection at a time and not say, 1 streamyx and 1 unifi? Or is that possible? Because I am going to rent a room in KL and don't really want to share the same connection with my housemates hahaUnifi for condo / apartment buildings will be using VDSL2 technology and this will ride on the existing copper line that your apartment/condo/building has. This is also in the Unifi brochure, pasted conveniently on the 1st page of this topic. This post has been edited by GreenSamurai: Jul 27 2010, 08:19 PM |

I am interested in getting the RB250GS but I have no extra routers available so I will have to get both that and a new router and that will cost me too much money that I can't afford

Sigh two days in and the router's wireless transmitter is already dead. Will go out and get a router to take over the tm router's function using the tm router as a bridge.

QUOTE(eye @ Aug 31 2010, 02:13 AM) just installed unifi this morning at my home. Any router with DD-WRT can replace that router though some will cause you to lose IPTV accessyep the ping and the speed is reasonably good. however the dlink wifi router that they supplied was bad. lan cable connection to the router was ok. but the wifi is horrid, i cant even maintain a proper wifi connection even tho i am in the same room with a clear line of sight. anyone else having this issue pls? can we buy a better alternative router to replace that sucky dlink?? thank you. |

QUOTE(azri @ Aug 31 2010, 11:35 PM) The router issue if you care to search has been revisited so many times. Please back track this thread. They will do on Sunday. Last time my appointment was on Sunday before I changed it due to the place I am staying don't allow any installations on Sundays. Crappy rule made me have to wait another week for my UnifiIf you can't access your wifi after restarting your unifi equipment especially the dlink box then it's very likely your RG are toasted! Even more so if you consistently get the Orange Globe of Death! Solution are a few... 1. Flash the dlink with ddwrt - lost iptv 2. Use the dlink as a vlan switch with your own router - all should work 3. Use a manage switch in between - one area where a lot of interest in the mikrotik board (but no source to purchase yet!) On the common question: 1. Can I re-use old number - No 2. Are there penalty upgrade from Streamyx to Unifi - No 3. Installation time - please call and set your appointment. I have done it on Saturday... I doubt they'll do on Sunday... Please search the forum. Information are plenty... |

QUOTE(IwanAGP @ Sep 1 2010, 01:18 AM) How can I check whether my application is being processed? I applied through an agent. How can i know whether the application is alrdy in their system? Is there a website like that for streamyx to check subscription status? Why apply through agent? Just call the Unifi Service Center. It's so fast you can register and set up appointment in the same day. At least that's what happened with me.This post has been edited by GreenSamurai: Sep 1 2010, 01:29 AM |
