Most android phone don't have front camera. How about trying ur luck at a 2nd hand SGS?

Do you need a QWERTY keyboard? If so, please go for the Desire Z. All in one. Besides that, Aria is a good start for Android phones. Please withdraw the idea of Wildfire. Screen reso/type shouts bad. Initially i was gonna get the Wildfire but the store manager managed to convince me to get Galaxy 5 instead. Downside is same screen reso as Wildfire. (320x240). If you do want to go for a basic use Android phone, and want to get Wildfire, opt for Galaxy 5 instead. For a fuller experience, take the Desire. DesireHD is a no-no. Has bad news going around. The news might be wrong though. If you can wait for a few months, wait for the Desire HD as it is the flagship device then. If the firmware is stable and performance. is superior compared to the Desire.

Because the earlier batches of the desire used amoled but later changed because SLCD was more vibrant. But the AMOLED batches was favoured over th e SLCD. In response to your question, most, if not all Android phones don't have a blackberry esque qwerty keyboard. If you insist on a qwerty keyboard u can try Desire Z. Though its the normal slide keyboard

khalpowers. The Desire might have flaws but not like ur xt is perfect right? If she wanted a HTC phone then let her. Some of us here might not trust Motorola anymore. I'm one of those. I had alot of bad experiences with Motorola.

Great budget phone! I'm using it as well. Either SG5 or Huawei Ideos. IMO Samsung would be a better choice. We already have a leaked Froyo!

Good choice as the camera is quite high in quality. Can be used as a secondary camera/phone. Its actually a mid-high tier phone so compared to other phones, the performance difference wouldn't be very significant as it also has a 1ghz processor.

SGS-If you need the video calling and also prefer Samsung

DHD-If you do not want to change to a newer phone in at least a year or two

Desire-If you prefer better battery life. The Desire is also the best they can offer now as it is one of the most stable phone.

DHD might have an upgraded software for maintaining battery life somewhere in the future. To be safe, I recommend you get the Desire. AP sets are only 1.5k now in Garage Sales.

LG? Seriously? Well you can opt for Desire for better battery life. According to many users SGS is quite lag at times. AP units only 1.5k if u.don't mind the warranty issues.

I think there are none in ur price range that is upgradeble to 2.2 with 5mp camera. If you prefer a better camera but only has 2.1, go for xt720 or x10i. Both around 1.3k or so. If you need 2.2, go for AP Desire. Around 1.5k at garage sales.

LILIIf you wanna go for acer, wait for the new Liquid Metal. Check out the officiaIL thread. Its cheaper than the Liquid-e series. And nicer with Froyo. Btw iPhone has a 1Ghz Apple A4 processor

If you wanna hax the Android i recommend you take the upcoming Nexus one. Price should be 1500+-.. Dev phone for haxing =P

Yep Nexus S. typo. Its not around 2k +.. a few person said it was $520 or so. Converted back here should be 1.5/1.6k

DHD has very bad battery life. I guess there will be a software to increase battery life but to be on the safe side, get the Desire.

The camera is better and is higher megapixeled. But the battery life turns me off. Desire is good! The white colour is cool but i don't think its available here. Go for AP unit if you want at 1.5k at garage sales.

You should ask this at the Desire official thread. Your method could work if u need the data plan but do not want the DHD. Or you could try out the DHD then sell it out for RM100-250 cheaper if you don't like it. If you do, keep it.

Exactly the same as the SGS iirc. Just doesn't have front facing camera.

Go for AP Desire. I'm sure they will give it a 2.3 in the future.

I think the Nexus S battery life is longer compared to the others It uses a S-AMOLED screen. You can wait for that. Price is roughly around 1.6-1.7k on release date.


Go for SE x10i if you don't mind the Eclair. There is no more upgrade in the future afaik. RM13xx or so for ori set

The other option is the xt720 which also has Eclair only.
