Heh not really! Instead of waiting for the lightning to appear. I did something totally the opposite of it! I set the camera to a high apperture and the lowest possible ISO and the shutter speed to 30sec (or was it 45 sec) and leave the camera there hoping that a lightning will turn up biggrin.gif . I waited around an hour for this ahahaha. Was well worth it!!!
*
Well. It still a nice shoot. smile.gif

You need a skill and knowledge to shoot this kind of picture. No ordinary ppl can do.

Even not me. Cause I afraid of lightning? sad.gif

Guys, my lumix dropped into the water and was retrieved immediately and being dried by hair dryer for a few hours.
Then tried turning it on 2 days later and it didnt work. Any solution to that? or somewhere that i can repair? Thanks!  sweat.gif
*
You can throw it away. No hope to repair. You only can repair at panasonic SC in shah alam.

The action after drop into water is immediately takeout the battery. Than put into drybox or inside airtight container with hypo. At least a week or 2.

Outside look dry, but inside still full of water. Once ON, bye, bye.

how to learn about aperture exposure and iso and shutter speed all that stuff.. i keep reading and dun get it
*
If you are a beginner, get some photography book or from net to learn. You will get a proper learn about all this thing rather than here or the manual.

Once you understand, you can play a lot of thing with this camera.

For me it is not easy to get fingerprint on the lens. hmm.gif

Anyway you can just wipe it with clean cloth. A cloth that is smooth surface not like tshirt.

Or get a micro clean cloth from 3M.

hi! new 'old' lx5 owner checking in... just sold my canon s95 and picked up a used lx5... initial impression, this lx5 is seriously powerful - so many options so many features. i just wanted to ask here if anyone happen to be using a WRIST strap with the lx5? as the original provided neck strap is too long for my liking, and i prefer a wrist strap. i found some in ebay - http://www.ebay.com/itm/Striped-Canon-Niko...#ht_2704wt_1110 but it seems to wide for the LX5.... hope lx5 owners can share.

i also found that the lens cap is a bit troublesome to remove/put on, so i ordered those auto close cap from ebay... will take a while to get to me. will post some spam photos shortly as i learn more about this camera. just updated to fw 2.0 though and the AF is seriously very fast.. amazing!
*
I m using wrist strap. It easy for me to put in the belt camera bag. And it more secure/grab in my hand.

Just get those normal HP wrist trap will do. No need special 1.

i'm afraid those hp wrist wrap may not be strong enough to handle the weight of the LX5.... but thanks i'll try and look around..
*
Don't worry. The strap is strong. I sometime swing around when walking. Most of the time I grab the camera while the strap around my hand.

Once got lenglui pass by, I can shot fast. tongue.gif

hi all LX5 owners.... can i check those using orig battery, has anyone tried taking avchd recording? what's the max you can take on a single full charge? i just tried and it's barely 1 hour.. is that ok or is my battery worn?

if you look in the LX5 advance manual, it says not to frequently top up the battery (page 18). in this case, we almost need to have 2 batteries and totally run each one flat before recharging to gain maximum lifetime out of it....

i just ordered an extra batt from ebay, not sure if good or not but gonna try it out. RM20 only.

Thanks!
*
The 3rd party battery not last long. It take about half of the original battery picture quantity.

And no battery indicator show on the screen.

I have 2pcs of this battery. But price cheap. So no choice.

amazon selling orig batt around usd32 which is just a bit over rm100.... good deal right? too bad they don't ship to malaysia... anyone got friends or family in US? tongue.gif
*
The shipping cost back here already can buy from here.

If shipping cost back here can be cheaper, I can consider it since I have family over there.

Wow it's cheap,jz went and c d link u gave. I never use ebay b4,i heard u have to pay for membership? Or is it only for seller? And is the brand of the cap u gave the link to the same as the one ure having? Is it ok? I can't demand best quality la for that price, but decent will be good enough.
*
The item is cheap but not the shipping cost. When buy, always include the shipping cost and check the local price. Most of the time, it is not much different with the local price.

And most of the cheap item in eBay, the shipping cost is more expensive than the item.

*
I experience before. I brought a server and only free shipping to US only. Not to here.

Plese teach me something about free shipping to here. notworthy.gif I want brought something from eBay. But always the shipping cost is expensive.

By the way, are we talking about US eBay?

Sorry getting out of topic, but since still related to lx5..... Try this

1. Register or login to www.ebay.com (yes, .com, not .com.my)
2. Search for the things you want, eg "lx5 cap"
3. On the results screen, click on the sort by and select price+location, then select malaysia
4. Then the results will now be listed cheapest first. It's a matter of selecting the best seller at this point. So far i've had no issues buying the cheapest listed, e.g. For lx5 auto close cap i can easily find $5.09 for white cap ( look for buy it now, not bid type of listing)

Have fun accessorizing your lx5!!
*
Thaught got lobang.

This is normally I do. But no related to camera accessory. No luck for fee shipping. sad.gif

ya i also can still use the card just that it will get more and more back picture with image cannot be displayed. Is there something wrong?
