I will go Bangkok Trip on January2011, so will buy this 2 months, and need to time to practice on different mode 1st...

You've gotta understand that Camera shops do not earn much from selling just the camera alone. They earn most of it by selling "overpriced" accessories.Just think of it, you buy 1 camera and how many accessories? Pouch,screen protector,tripod,UV filter,lens cap,memory card-That's 6 already lol

Hence, you see so many "packages" where you add RMXXX for extra accessories?

Ever seen packages like LX5@RM1699 with free bag,memory card,screen protector,tripod whereas body alone cost only let's say RM1500? You're paying an extra RM200 for those super cheapo stuff which isn't worth near RM200. Same thing applies to DSLRs as well, most beginners are enticed by freebies which i think is totally ridiculous. What's so great about freebies when they're worth nothing what you paid extra for them.

I bought my 550D with 50mm f/1.8 lens at Skydrake's shop in Digital Mall for RM2720 which is already a rock bottom price.Guess what i didn't get any free gift except for a really cheapo free screen protector. I had the guts to mention to his colleague that shops earn much more from selling accessories than the body alone, he just nodded lol

Today..Go mobile at KLCC is very disappointed...NO super cun amoi available to photograph.. ...waste time only

i today went KL Bird Park also got a few super cun amoi... Some even with DSLR and sony nex~
Pawn my lx5~ wakaka~
but i manage to capture almost 800 pics with fully charged battery~ Strange~

hi owners, need a quick review, especially if you're taking baby pics:
for continuous shooting like a dslr is it possible? or if i press the shutter continuously, how many frames per second will it capture before it stops for processing?

I dont mind shooting in jpeg for ths as quality is secondaryy, but i'm not willing to go to 3mp for the 10fps burst mode.

is it possible for this camera to shoot at 2fps for 5 sec continuously (focus fixed)?

if not how much time in between do i have to wait?

My baby moves a lot especially the smiles, probably he smiles only 0.5s per 10s so i have to really shoot continuously and hope for the best.

hi lee82gx, the lx5 can perform burst mode@continuous shooting~
u just go to scene mode > page 2 > burst mode ~
then u can choose image or speed priority~
then u just press the shutter button and it'll capture the pics until u release the shutter button~
and dont worry, it capture very fast haha~

for burst mode is it at full 10mp resolution or will it need to be reduced? Can it really be held down for 5 seconds straights?

I read from the spec:

if at burst mode the mp will be reduced to :-
*3M for 4:3 *2.5M for 3:2 *2M for 16:9 *2.5M for 1:1
as stated by you~

i held down my shutter button and it can take for approx. 4-5sec (3M for 4:3) under scene-burst mode

i try shutter mode at 9M for 3:2 and it can take Max. 5 images (Standard Mode)and Max. 3 images (Fine Mode)
