i will get my LX5 this Saturday. i am thinking whether i should bring it with me for my next tuesday bali trip or not.

do you think 2 days is enough for me to learn the basic things? not to say master it... but just the basic point and shoot...? smile.gif
*
You must be kidding me. Brought a new camera and not shot for a holiday trip? hmm.gif

Even 1day, I will try my best to learn it. Learn a basic shot will be enough.

I brought this camera for my next 2week Australia holiday. Now everyday read the manual and shot here and there. smile.gif

Is it similar to the polarizing filter? But polarizing filter have 2 filter which can rotate. While the cpl have 1 filter only. But can rotate too.

I have the same question too. Original battery just too expensive...
*
Brought the 3rd party battery and try. The battery feel lighter than the original. The camera running no problem. The only thing is no battery indicator on the LCD.

Still testing the amount shot it can stand. But this need few time charge before get actual result.

Guys, just got my LX5 from Lowyat my friend shop.

now almost 80% of lowyat shop no stock for LX5. 1 more thing guys, my friend shop told me that the stock price for LX5 is 1.35k.

if someone offer you less than that mostly is no stock so they make empty promise. i try to survey in sg.wang, then that guy offer me 1.2k i was like wtf? so cheap?

then when i wait, he pretend to call someone take stock from other place but after few mintues he say he no stock and try to push me into other camera which i didnt survey. So, conclusiin please becareful on this type of marketing strategy.  icon_idea.gif

The shop i buy is the 1 next to Shangrila in Lowyat 1st floor. Another shop at another place is throwing price 1.25k stock ready but no more casing. so at last i get my LX5 at 1.35k with free 8gb card , screen protector , tripod, and leather case.

GUYS LETS ROCK WITH LX5!!!!  rclxms.gif

I asked the leather one and they quote me 300..

So ori is leather or PVC?

Added on September 5, 2011, 9:55 am
Manage to register on the panasonic site for the local warranty should be ori edy Mah rite

The ori case is leather. But ugly.

I throw it a side and brought another soft case. Which is much easy to carry and more side pocket.

Anyone feel LX5 strap abit painful if hang whole day? smile.gif

I change it to short hand strap. The neck trap too long and troublesome.

Where to get the short hand strap? Is it like those strap like normal compact camera?
*
Yup. Or the handphone strap. When you put the camera into soft case, the long strap is not suitable.

Just upgrade the firmware. Pretty easy.

Save the .bin file to the sd card (in the main not folder). 'ON' the camera and press play(view photo) button. Straight comeout upgrade firmware yes/no windows. Choose yes and you are done.

Hope your camera for speedy recovery haha
I bought the kiwi but yet to try it~
Take precaution of the hood. You got to align the hood to make sure the edge of the photo don't have the shade or minimise it.

I forget to check and many of the nice picture I shot got the shade at the edge.

problem with lx is.. night shot is average.. just that if u like taking night photo.. boosting the ISO does not do good.. u get Noise.. a lot ! thats why u need flash.. but flash photos arent pretty also..

i think to get a good shot.. u need tripod.. because shutter speed confirm slow.. biggrin.gif

budget of rm1k+- need to wait other sifu help u d..
*
It is not a problem and you can't compare wiTh Dslr. That is wrong comparison.

Lx5 is already good in low light capture for the same type camera. You can use manual setting and slow shutter speed to shot even lowest light without using flash. Just ask your subject not to move.

I don't like to use high iso setting. The most I can accept is iso400. So in lowest light i use method above to shot. I don't understand why camera have those high iso which come out crap noise picture.

If talking bout low light shooting, your sensor size, and etc will be related not really your lens
*
Most of the new camera low light capture like lx5 or s95 is using new technology which using backlight to illuminate the sensor without increase the size of the sensor.
