Still updated everyday. However if you mean the version never change, . PC Tools Antivirus uses same engine with Threatfire for proactive detection. So I guess if PC Tool comes with major version change it will be followed by Threatfire.

Make sure you completely remove one before installing another one. Otherwise, it may bring you troubles.... icon_idea.gif

Because it was not that good.. But now the AVG Antivirus Free 2011 seems to be better with cloud based detection as well.

AVG might seems get improved in the 2011 version..but the installer size still turns some people off... > 110MB in setup alone, for free version.

Avast! would be the lightest among all.. Good thing is, it has web shield and network shield and several other shields which I don't use biggrin.gif

I'd just use File, Web, Network and Behavior shields. smile.gif

I ditched AVG and use COMODO about half a year ago. Never regret doing that. smile.gif Use Malwarebytes' Anti Malware as well. These 2 never disappoint me. Anyway never install AV more than 1 as it will clash. Anti-spyware/malware should be okay though if you want to install and use 2 or 3 at the same time.

Both Avast and Avira are good free antivirus.
Which one to choose?
I think it is depend on personal preference.
