think diablo 2. you buy the game, then you can play limitlessly on battlenet. kinda like that.

anyway as for the colored items, purple colored is usually rarer than blue, golden rarer than purple. you usually get better mods with rarer color equips, but that's not always the case. sometimes you can get a gold salvage item with no rune in it.

Higher max lvls?

no.

if you really play guild wars as what it is, you'll find that the levels mean nothing. if you don't like how you can't level up and be uber after lv20, then guild wars isn't for you.

i like surprises.

stuck in Aurora Glades

the capture-the-flag element at the end of that one was fun. there aren't really that many white mantles there. i did it with a friend of mine, the rest henchies. one stayed at a pedestal, attacking the incoming while mantles, while the other kept going back and forth bringing crystals to reclaim the pedestal if the white mantles captures it, so then they would keep coming after the same pedestal over and over.

but wont it be cool if we could lvl up more.

no.

as the dev said, players will reach a part where they "ascend". new features will be available to all ascended players, so not only uber people will be able to enjoy new maps or new skills or new whatever.

like what nub posted earlier on being a Mo/E, it depends on what ur main purpose is. mine was definitely to be healer (protection monk). tongue.gif

i only chose elementalist as my 2ndary because i soloed a lot, thus i needed a lot of fire power; the henchie can heal. being a healer for a party of henchmen just feels stupid.

but now i've been partying a lot, i hardly touch my elementalist attributes/spells at all. well except for the glyph.

i am so gonna change my 2ndary after i ascend.

you shouldn't bother about specializing at the beginning and just make full use of whatever skills you have. like for instance, you can't start a monk and expect to be an uber smiting monk from the beginning; the only smiting spells you'll get are bane signet, banish, and retribution.

in other words, just do what you can with what you have first, and go on collecting more skills. if you're looking for a certain monk skill, you can ask here, i'll help if i can; i've already collected quite a handful of monk skills so far.

they're talking about missions, sayming. missions are like uh... missions. it's a map where you start with some objectives to complete, which would usually lead to other objectives. if you fail(die, or let a vital NPC die), the mission fails, and you're forced to return to the mission outpost.

missions appear on the map as a shield. when you enter the mission, either by map warping or by walking in, you'll arrive at the outpost. here you have the usual merchant, storage, henchmen NPCs. you can form your party, and when everyone's ready, the party leader will click on the "Start Mission" button. the whole party will be warped to the mission map, and start the mission.

any class combination will work, everyone's got good skills to help out when it comes to gw.

but i somehow felt some primary classes special ability abit lackluster. i remade my n/e to e/n....necro's soul reaping doesn't seem to help alot compared to elementalist's energy boost.

anyone here high lvl necro and got invest into soul reaping? how well does it work in pvp?

well each class has their own of making their energy last longer. monks have divine favor, which increases the power of healing per unit energy. elementalists have energy storage which increases their total energy pool. mesmers have fast casting because most of their spells takes time to cast, and so that they can spam energy sucking spells quicker. rangers have expertise. warriors have adrenaline skills that don't use energy.

necromancer's soul reaping is the best, imo. you get 1 energy per point, per creature death. that means that you can combo animating bone minions, and then killing them with taste of death and get energy from it. there's also dark bond which makes them die faster too. being able to suck 16 energy with one reaping is a lot.

and you can also kill those harmless animals like the birds and lizards to do soul reaping as well.

if you only think about pvp, then a lot of necromancer's spells will be useless, especially those involving corpses since well, people don't die as much in pvp.

pvp isn't everything.

it's natural, really. some skills work better in pvp than pve. some the other way around. most straight forward skills work just as well at both.

heya guys, me again.

i've been taking a break from guild wars, and have been tending to all sorts of troublesome stuff. my semester starts tomorrow, and i'll be moving in to my new place in cyberia smarthomes later today after i pack. i still have to get my laptop fixed, and then get a proper desktop(if my mom allows), and then there's the trouble of furnishing the new house...

anyway, not being able to play guild wars, i've been helping these guys with their wikiwiki on guild wars. do help write articles or correct errors and spread the link around.

apply for official fansite from guildwars.com soon, they plan to.

i don't see what's the big deal about ascending. i guess people find it hard because they almost always stick to an "uber" specialized build(pure healing but can't fight, or pure offensive but can't keep self alive), so when the doppel gets a set of specialized skills, he gets to use it to its full potential.

i always make my build so that i'm self sufficient; i'm usually supportive, but i can fight ifmy party gets wiped out and i need to survive to resurrect them, and i keep myself alive well while in the middle of battles.

i beat my doppel on the first try, go figure.
