QUOTE(Koross @ May 4 2005, 10:14 PM) Wah omg the pics looks sweet! Man now I want to get the game too! But RM249 is kinda steep. Not really. The average North American MMO that comes in is about RM 269 and there's still the monthly fee to think about. WoW was also that amount at first but soon jumped to 300 when they stopped production.Anway, I *might* be getting this at the end of the month (Need $$$ ). How many of you guys are playing this and how many more are gonna get it? In a game like this, its no fun to go in with no friends |

QUOTE(alkt @ May 5 2005, 12:22 PM) QUOTE(LiQuiDWaVe @ May 5 2005, 12:23 PM) Yes, I do, Mr. Tan. QUOTE(RO Player @ May 5 2005, 12:27 PM) Hi gamers, 1) RM 249. Free shipping via PosLaju in Peninsula M'sia (provided you're willing to wait a few working days for the postman to send it to you). Otherwise you can pick up at our SS2 showroom. No COD since we're short staffed at the moment. Need your help. 1) How much is the normal version (box version) in ringgit and COD within KL. 2) How much is the collector version (box version) in ringgit and COD within KL. Thanks. 2) Most of it seems to have sold out in the US, so it is doubtful we'll be selling the CE version. It'll probably cost upwards of RM 349 if someone do sell it locally. |

Argh! You guys are really making me want to buy this game. Its crazy!! Hmmm ... maybe I'll drop by at SS2 later ...
Hmmm just to confirm, what are new updates? Although there are no monthly fees we have to worry about but we do have to pay for new updates. Does this mean new additions to the game (ie new maps) or does this also include patches and bug fixes? If these are answered somewhere or on the main website can you provide me the link please? For some reason I'm thinking "There must be a catch there somewhere" kinda thing. This post has been edited by Koross: May 5 2005, 12:50 PM |

Updates / fixes in the past couple of days:Hmmm just to confirm, what are new updates? Although there are no monthly fees we have to worry about but we do have to pay for new updates. Does this mean new additions to the game (ie new maps) or does this also include patches and bug fixes? If these are answered somewhere or on the main website can you provide me the link please? For some reason I'm thinking "There must be a catch there somewhere" kinda thing. http://www.guildwars.com/news/gameupdates.html From http://www.guildwars.com/faq/default.html#release QUOTE Am I required to buy the expansion packs to continue to play Guild Wars? No. Every purchase you make in the continuation of the Guild Wars saga will be your choice. If you purchase expansion packs you will gain access to new regions of the world, new skills and abilities, new items, new professions, and much more. If you choose to not purchase a chapter, you will still be able to play the chapters of Guild Wars that you own, and you will have common areas in which you will be able to play with and against your friends who have purchased the other chapter(s). Will I remain competitive if I do not buy the expansion packs? Will I be able to compete with and against others if I have only some of the Guild Wars chapters? Yes. Purchasing the newer chapters of Guild Wars will not make you strictly more powerful. You will have access to many more strategic options, due to the expanding nature of the skills, abilities, items and professions that you enjoy with each chapter. It would be similar to building a deck in Magic: The Gathering(tm): The more cards you own, the more different playing decks that you can choose from to use in the game. When you buy the chapters of Guild Wars, you will acquire a larger collection of skills and abilities from which to build your skill set, but you will not gain more power. So if you purchase a chapter and your friend does not, you will still be able to play competitively against and with one another. |

QUOTE(RO Player @ May 5 2005, 01:06 PM) Err...i heard from other players...they get a discount of RM 20 out of RM 249 = RM 229...is it true?? RM 229 was the pre-order/early bird price. Cut off date was on 3rd May 2005.Am i right?? RM 229?? AFAIK, neither Wizshop nor Megabuy are stocking Guild Wars at this time. Not sure how they're selling it cheaper. QUOTE(RO Player @ May 5 2005, 01:20 PM) You forgot to read the fine print on Amazon:Shipping: Currently, item can be shipped only within the U.S. Edit: If you really want to save money and don't mind not having a box or manual, just buy the CD-key online from NCsoft.
