Haven't set up hotmail, but shouldn't expect a problem. There is an email app on the phone.
Which phone to get purely depends on your tastes. But I am sure you will not regret getting the SGS, the android community is a lovely one.

QUOTE(llk @ Jul 28 2010, 11:54 PM) What i can say is PDair silicone case is very nice, buttons are easily press, using it whole day won't felt sticky, highly recommended although it is abit pricey (RM59, i ordered myself thru online store). The red one tempting me a lot. I can't stop staring at it. lol

QUOTE(llk @ Jul 29 2010, 12:08 AM) Yes, should get that, derrickmoo's price very attractive, much lesser than order from online store. Contacted the bro. Thanks for the review lol. I am actually v concerned about silicone cases, cause some get really sticky and disgusting after a while. But since you said it doesn't feel sticky, more confidence.

QUOTE(AceOfSpades @ Jul 29 2010, 12:09 AM) which shops do you guys recommend to get this phone? Ori set.. I don't wanna get from maxis. If you intend to root the phone, just get AP set lor. :s IMHO, because then warranty basically doesn't really matter anymore. Added on July 29, 2010, 12:43 amEarlier today I downloaded launcher pro, but I couldn't get it to run as a default instead of having TWlauncher run. My phone isn't rooted, but is there a way to run launcher pro instead of TW? I had both running at the same time and it was a little laggy doing some stuff like moving widgets around. Well, not everyone root their phone. At least not until I'm sure 2.2 works on my phone without any hardware issues then I may root.

QUOTE(casper1 @ Jul 29 2010, 05:30 PM) turning on or off APN doesn't really made a huge different, just like one has 30% vs. 10% left end of day. display is set to minimum brightness, not more than 30min calls and a few SMS. on stock rooted firmware... any helps? Switch off display when not in use. The display uses the most battery.

QUOTE(silentser @ Jul 29 2010, 09:11 PM) hard to get a fix location, took forever to get a location etc etc.... When standing in the open or in the car, I get fix very quickly. Of course not as fast as a dedicated GPS unit, but I find it is acceptable. Added on July 29, 2010, 9:46 pmQUOTE(Justin5455 @ Jul 29 2010, 09:20 PM) Guys, I get my phone yesterday, I tried to online using the data plan today but keep failing, can't connect to the network. Anyone know how to solve this problem? Please set your APN, FAQ on post 1. This post has been edited by MYstombox: Jul 29 2010, 09:46 PM

... then how did you post here?
If you follow the APN settings on post 1, it should work.
Also, see if you have 2G/3G toggled on.

Yes, I know about that. But wouldn't twlauncher still be running in the background and eating up resources?

Leo, it is best you download and use an APN controller such as APN onoff by curvefish or similar.
It isn't so much of a scam than how you use the phone. Some programs open themselves and try to send/receive data.

Just disable 3G and disable APN. And only when you need then you activate.

QUOTE(monked @ Jul 30 2010, 10:54 PM) yea i noe ... just duno the software name =/ izzit totally free or is just a trail version It's free, don't worry. Added on July 30, 2010, 10:59 pmQUOTE(silentser @ Jul 30 2010, 10:55 PM) to be more precise i read at the DiGi smartplan FAQ they say if you go over 3GB, you wont get charge after that, you will surf for free but at capped speed The capped speed is pathetic, but better than nothing... I am not on any data plan, so I am quite prudent with my 3G usage. If I am not using, I just disable it... because you never know what rogue program will start itself and keep sending/receiving data and kill you slowly.
