Guys, please chip in and give some lights on both of the receivers. Actually I'm looking for a balance 50/50 between music listening and movies. As far as I know Marantz is towards musical but lack of punch for movie. The thing is I do not want to sacrifice the performance for movie if I choose the Marantz. I hope to get a balance between both interest.

Yea, Marantz sound very clean. For movies, use the EQ to boost bass and other freq range. A lot of other tweaking can be done to cover shortcoming. But the sound quality is really good. And Marantz is cheaper also. Extra money can buy Telos RCA caps. Then, your Marantz will be as quiet as black hole tongue.gif

Actually I have an old tube amp, it could be better if there is any AVR out there that can accept "pre-in" so that I can integrate my tube amp to the AVR. I doubt there is a such AVR with this "pre-in" feature???
