QUOTE(vaio pavilion @ Jul 22 2010, 08:46 AM) why don't just buy an 1.6 and mod to 2.0 engine.. Halogen the leather seat we just wrap it at accesories shop and fix the MDPS as well... for the cruise.. then i have no idea.. but like this can save lots of your time for waiting a 2.0SX.. ofcox a real 2.0SX is better but i think 1.6SX also not that bad right? lesser a little bit features as i mentioned above and a little bit lack of power.. that's all.. but seriously if i have chance i will definately go for a real 2.0SX as well.. by the way, guys.. 2.0 come with halogen or HID headlamp? |

QUOTE(wind01 @ Jul 22 2010, 02:17 PM) Btw, That's normal..even for the 2.0. I've asked the same question before My forte...when on the headlight or small light, only the front door power window button got light...but not the rear door. Any Forte 1.6SX owner can verify this ? QUOTE(valkjr @ Jul 22 2010, 03:08 PM) Hi guys, I booked a KIA FORTE 2.0 and proceed to apply loan from bank. To my dismay, my loan rejected and as a double whammy, the KIA branch refused to make a refund of my booking even though I give them the loan reject letter from the bank, saying the company doesnt allow refund. WTF?! Its not my loan approved and I do not want to get the car...but ITS MY LOAN THAT BEEN REJECTED. How am I suppose to buy that car if I couldnt get my loan? Any help guys? When i booked my Forte last time, my SA make it clear that the RM1k deposit are not refundable for whatever reasons except the fault is at their part |

QUOTE(StarGhazzer @ Jul 22 2010, 05:37 PM) I'll say it's more of a cost saving measure, which like the absence of the auto-up window function, should not be excluded. But since I'm always in the driver seat, I couldn't care less. This post has been edited by izputra: Jul 23 2010, 12:16 PM |

QUOTE(kevin23 @ Jul 23 2010, 01:09 PM) For both versions of Forte 1.6, it uses hydraulic power steering which will give that kind of characteristics (heavy during stop/slow but lighter at higher speed). Forte 2.0 instead uses MDPS (motor driven power steering) where the electric motor are used to assist the steering effort. MDPS is designed in such a way that it usually gives the opposite characteristics than the hydraulic one which is lighter at stop/low speed (for easier parking manuever) & will becomes heavier at higher speed. Personally for not-a-raceboy like me, i prefer the MDPS characteristic Added on July 23, 2010, 1:28 pm QUOTE(phelix @ Jul 23 2010, 01:15 PM) That's correct Added on July 23, 2010, 1:31 pm QUOTE(epo @ Jul 23 2010, 01:22 PM) Ehh..where? QUOTE(kevin23 @ Jul 23 2010, 01:32 PM) Yea exactly,i also prefer the MDPS characteristic..Cuz when i drove the Forte 1.6 ,i just couldnt accept the fact the steering is light at high speeds.Maybe its just me,but anyway, overall Forte is still a value buy car lah . Luckily the NHC also got this MDPS thingy or also knows as EPS in Honda vocabulary. It suits u well then This post has been edited by izputra: Jul 23 2010, 02:50 PM |

QUOTE(Taipan052 @ Jul 23 2010, 06:34 PM) Correct. If use fully syn oil, the maintenance cost will be cheaper than the mineral oil in the long run u know Added on July 24, 2010, 12:17 am QUOTE(Lover @ Jul 23 2010, 07:02 PM) Coz for the first service Naza charge us the parts (engine oil + oil filter) with free labour. Honda instead, charge the labour only but the parts are free (for the 1st service) This post has been edited by izputra: Jul 24 2010, 12:17 AM |

Update : Maintenance Cost Comparison (now includes maintenance cost for Forte for Fully Synthetic Engine Oil, service month & +1 additional car)
Credits to our fellow LYN forumer, bro Pogostik for his valuable input on Peugeot 308 VTi/THP maintenance cost. Worth to note from his words below: " Here I give you the maintenance cost for both Peugeot 308 THP and VTi. For the record: ~ the cost is for 6 years (for 5 years or 100,000KM, total cost is RM5601.00) ~ service duration is 10,000KM or 6 months, whichever comes first ~ 308 requires 4.25L of engine oil (fully synthetic), hence the additional 1 litre of engine oil ~ some of the parts price has been reduced. however I couldn't find the latest price for those parts. " & to answer both questions by bro Lover below : QUOTE(Lover @ Jul 24 2010, 12:21 AM) QUOTE(Lover @ Jul 24 2010, 12:39 AM) In term of maintenance cost, comparison table above clearly shows that the total maintenance cost if we use the fully synthetic oil will be lower (though slightly) than the mineral oil (for Forte). It justifies my previous statement that it will save us in a long run. So, in term of maintenance cost, use fully syn oil is better. If we take into account the extra time to spare, extra fuel to burn & extra effort to be done if we use the mineral oil (coz have to go to SC every 5k km if we use mineral oil as compared to every 10k if we use fully syn oil), it is even worth it to opt for fully syn oil Any other input guys?
