The second match of the Roy Hodgson era takes place on Saturday afternoon as Liverpool play Kaiserslautern in a pre-season friendly in Germany.


The Reds last met the Bundesliga club in a friendly clash in July 2006 when goals from Craig Bellamy and Luis Garcia could not prevent a 3-2 defeat.

It was a fixture made notable for Pepe Reina's cameo appearance as a midfielder in the second half in Liechtenstein.

done in by Ayala's inexperience. A quick look at the goal again showed that Ayala hesitated to whether pull further back in or position himself against the striker.

Kyriagkos came in slightly too late.

But there is a problem with the LB. He's defending like a last man, clearing every ball, instead of putting it up for teammates.
