Kenny Huang To Make €480m Takeover Offer For Liverpool - Report

Chinese businessman Kenny Huang is reportedly expected to lodge a bid in the region of €480m million to takeover Liverpool.

The 46-year-old's representatives recently released a statement to the effect that their client had registered an interest in buying the Merseyside club, but was yet to launch a formal bid to prise control away from the club's much maligned owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett.

Now The Daily Telegraph reports that Huang is expected to make an official offer in the region of €480m early on this week, with a view to taking over the Reds.

It has also been reported that the businessman has already held talks with Barclays Capital, the bank appointed to oversee the sale of the club.

Meanwhile, former Syria international Yahya Kirdi has also been heavily linked with a takeover and is believed to be serious about moving ahead with his plans to assume control of Anfield.

There have also been reports of New York-based private equity firm Rhone Group reigniting their interest in buying Liverpool.

Another Liverpool star commits to Roy's vision

Dirk Kuyt is set to remain at Liverpool after positive talks with Roy Hodgson, ending any speculation over a move to Inter.

The word coming out of Italy is that Rafa Benitez has ended his pursuit of his former Dutch workhorse after being informed that Kuyt was no longer contemplating a switch.

The news is yet another major scalp for new Liverpool boss Hodgson, who has also convinced Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres to remain with the Reds this summer.

Benitez will now likely turn his attention to landing Javier Mascherano, who is still seeking a move away from the club.

kuyt and ngog are very different players... Kuyt is more of a shadow striker while Ngog is more or less an out and out striker..... i favor kuyt tho, smile.gif coz he's damn hardworking... and not that bad too....

Massimo Moratti Admits Inter Lack The Financial Resources To Sign Liverpool Midfielder Javier Mascherano
The Italian champions aren't likely to lure Mascherano away from Liverpool this summer...

Inter president Massimo Moratti has admitted it is unlikely that the Champions League holders will sign Argentina international Javier Mascherano from English titans Liverpool this summer.

The Nerazzurri are continually being linked with a move for the holding midfielder, but Moratti has stated that Inter lack the financial resources to meet Liverpool's hefty demands.

"At this moment, we're unable to make any transfers of this magnitude," said Moratti in reference to Liverpool's hefty asking price in an interview with Corriere dello Sport. "We can't make any big transfers until we've sold someone."

Brazilian defender Maicon was continually being linked with a move to Real Madrid in the past couple of months, but Moratti confirmed earlier on Monday that the full-back is going nowhere.
However, striker Mario Balotelli appears to be on his way out of the club and could be sold to Manchester City later this week.

It's not yet certain though whether Inter will re-ignite their interest in the 26-year-old Mascherano once they have cashed in on Balotelli.

One of the parties interested in buying Liverpool have taken a step back from the process.

The Sahara Group, headed by businessman Subrata Roy, had been considering buying into the club earlier this year.

However, as various parties assess their next move - Liverpool have invited prospective new owners to make official offers detailing how their bid will be financed - the huge Indian conglomerate have decided not to proceed.

"The deal for acquisition of the Liverpool Football Club was in our consideration in the recent past," said head of corporate communications Abhijit Sarkar in a statement to Bloomberg.

"However, after considering all related factors, we have decided not to go ahead with it, at least for the time being."

Added on August 9, 2010, 11:10 pmWinger set for Anfield switch?

Liverpool are the favourites to sign Manchester City’s Shaun Wright-Phillips.

The former Chelsea man has seen his stock at Eastlands fall under Roberto Mancini and could even see himself left out of their 25 man squad for the coming season after the signing of David Silva – which has prompted Roy Hodgson to consider making a bid for the England international.

Arsenal are also reported to be interested in Wright-Phillips, but are not happy with the valuation placed on him by City – which is reported to be around the £7m mark.

Reds make striker enquiry

Liverpool are reported to have made enquiries to West Ham regarding the future of striker Carlton Cole – only to be put off by the valuation of over £10m.

Cole has already rejected a switch to Stoke this Summer, but may be tempted to make the move to Anfield to join Roy Hodgson’s revolution.

An insider is quoted by ESPN Soccernet as saying: “Carlton would like a move to Liverpool, but they are short on funds as everyone knows.”

It is claimed that Hodgson will match the £15m pricetag if a protracted takeover is completed at Anfield before the transfer window slams shut at the end of the month.

Added on August 9, 2010, 11:12 pmHodgson made move for Hyypia

Roy Hodgson has revealed that he had a bid for ex-Red Sami Hyypia rejected by Bayer Leverkusen.

The Finland international left Anfield in the Summer of 2009 to make the switch to Die Bundesliga with the 2002 Champions League finalists. He signed a two year deal with them.

Hodgson, who managed Hyypia while in charge of Finland during 2006 and 2007, has revealed that the German club rejected the approach.

“I can see players like Jamie Carragher and Steven Gerrard never leaving Liverpool Football Club,” he told Click Liverpool. “I can see them always being part of the club. In the same way I’m a bit disappointed that my attempts to bring Sami Hyypia back failed.”

“It only failed because he’s so important to Bayer Leverkusen. We couldn’t get him out of his contract. He’s one I would also put in the Jamie Carragher-Steven Gerrard mould – Liverpool for life.”

“Unfortunately he was let go at the end of the season before last and we can’t get him back. He’s too valuable to them.”

point is, masch is a pro, the only reason he wants to leave is his family commitments, and i dont blame him for that, so i blv he'll try to engineer a move away from england. but sad to say the only real interest are from inter and barca. as barca are all out on fabregas, and inter out of resources to secure his signature, i'll be more than glad that he stays.
btw off topic, rafa nt getting his way in transfer funds again in inter, i wonder will he use it as an excuse if they come up short.

i dare say roy is aiming to bring in more english players mainly of the quota ? brad jones, swp, crouch, now charlton cole ?
