sounds like virus...haha...anyway, ixus are fairly expensive compared to the competitors...
Lumix have great OIS but they are relatively poor in low light condition (that's what i read during i buy mine..maybe the have improved throughout the years)..but most P & S perform poorly in low light...no more than iso400...if you exceed that, you start to notice loss of details and noise...

Canon powershot are great value for money semi-auto P & S..but they are bulky and use AA batt compared to IXUS..

nah... for budget camera, ISO200 is already pretty much the limit if u want minimal noise...

Lumix is usually good when comes to detail at high ISO... they tend to ve more noise while retaining details, while most others sacrifice detail for less noise...

anyway, Canon Powershot A series is a bit of non-existent already... proably replaced by IXUS 300 and 400 series... though i ve to say Powershot A were great cameras for those wanting to take up photographhy as a hobby... a good mix of auto and manual controls, while delivering good phots (my family used to own A40 and A70, now my dad still using a A570 IS laugh.gif)... wat's left is D (rugged design), SX (super zoom), S (compact performance) and G (prosumer)...

highwind: i actually prefer AA battery... it's more convinent when u run out of juice, and is much cheaper to replace as well... like for eg, the 2 battery for my Powershot G11 ran dry after 4 days of pretty intense shooting in Melbourne (over 300 shots)... the 1 in my friend's IXUS 100 ran out after 3 days... but heck, propietary battery is the trend... still misses the days of poping AA battery into the camera...

Yeah..something like that..so that explains the noise vs detail at high ISO..
powershot SX series not too bad...cheap and good...bulky though..laugh.gif

yeah..there's pros and cons for li-ion batt and AA batt...li-ion is more expensive to replace...
but in terms of batt life, which one is better? AA with higher capacity ones?

there's a type of lens cleaner called Lens Pen, i bought it from Photo Shangri-La for ~Rm40 i think, cant remember exact price..just need to check one thing, make sure it's imported by Schmidt Sdn Bhd, cos only that company imported one is original, the rest are fake

looks like this:

for super zoom i actually prefer Panasonic Lumix TZ series... compact but still with more than 10x zoom... however Powershot SX20 has quite a lot of features to fiddle (like EVF laugh.gif)...

one end of it is to brush away dust from ur lens, and the other side they claim will clean the lens very well that lens cloth cant...and they say wont scratch ur lens and stuff like that..

Added on July 26, 2010, 2:40 pmam using one myself...works quite well, especially the brush side...not only used for lens only haha
