actually i want to check whether my HD4670 is detected or not... but nvm, just now, i run hardware driver from system there, it said my HD4670 is detected but need to install driver myself, now reading the instruction
i dont really understand the instruction. in amd website, it said "32-Bit packages must be installed for 64-Bit Linux drivers to install or work." what does it means?? and also in this web, they put 3 command under Download the latest Catalyst package section, i dont know how it work QUOTE $ cd ~/; mkdir catalyst10.7; cd catalyst10.7/ $ wget http://www2.ati.com/drivers/linux/ati-driv...-x86.x86_64.run $ chmod +x ati-driver-installer-10.7-x86.x86_64.run very blur la This post has been edited by Fantasia: Jul 29 2010, 04:16 PM |

Should be working as by default QUOTE(Dackson @ Jul 30 2010, 07:54 AM) bluetooth no need to install driver. just make sure u turn it on in windows b4 u run ubuntu. for ati, i'm using 10.7 for linux ^^QUOTE(wanttobuylaptop @ Jul 30 2010, 09:17 AM) my BT is done, the one unrecognized still dunno is wat x64 always got extra steps when install stuff compared to x86 btw, if i install x64 windows and x86 linux in the same system dual boot, wont have any trouble rite? x64 is quite fussy in finding software, i think my mint use x86 cukup le.. just found the difference between them... apparently, same as windows. now a bit regret for choosing x64 when install ubuntu This post has been edited by Fantasia: Jul 30 2010, 11:02 AM |

QUOTE(wanttobuylaptop @ Jul 30 2010, 11:18 AM) eh......if i'm not wrong... yes, i'm trying to install avast in my x64 ubuntu but even though i follow the instruction, i dont know y i still fail. ok, i will give mint a try after i cant stand ubuntu x64 anymore XD actually do u understand how sudo bla bla bla work?? i just copy and paste into terminal only...avast is anti virus rite? i also installed it on my windows x64...not problem ler... mint is very easy cos it comes with everything...just install and u are good to go.. rarely u need CLI to get things done installations of many things are just clicks away... to be fair, even ubuntu is highly GUI already, but still mint is better and more friendly for beginner we do not need to do CLI unless we want to use some really new and beta software, in some cases we need to compile ourselves give mint a try did i say with mint u can directly do all the stunning effects we usually saw on youtube? yea, it comes with everything~ with ubuntu u need to install the package before you can do those stunts~ |

x64 windows should be no problem. but for x64 linux, when u install softwares, most of the time u need to do extra step compared to x86 linux. and wine doesnt support x64
