QUOTE(astria @ Jul 28 2010, 10:09 AM)
at first was looking at Xonar, but after checking the prices, i am leaning towards Sound Blaster...

last i know, Creative sound cards are always bloody expensive... probably X-Fi Surround 5.1 is old (almost 2yrs), thus price dropped quite a lot... but for sound, old does not necessarily means outdated...

and also, when comes to audio (less headphones and MP3 players), Creative will always get my vote...
*
Same with me, Creative never fail me when comes to sound nod.gif...well, though its old, the quality is thumbup.gif

QUOTE(astria @ Jul 28 2010, 10:12 AM)

i just realize another plus from linux (am using now, live usb mode...forgot bring windows cd to reformat at office...)
normally we dont dare to open pdf files in browser rite, always download first...cos direct open will cause mega lag..
open pdf file in browser with linux, took less than 2 sec...
@pry,
OSX is the only way if we want to sniff into other hotspot and ppl system? can linux does it?
*
Yup, the beauty of linux nod.gif..well, mine here got no problem opening PDF directly from browser without downloading it icon_rolleyes.gif...maybe because of the line also maybe hmm.gif

iinm, Linux also got some apps that can be use as like sniffing in OSX but the one in OSX is much more drool.gif because like prasys did said that it allows you to actually see what people is doing brows.gif

@want
Well, for Ubuntu in S42, yes only the touchpad won't work (unless you put those command in terminal like before)..no need to change because even if you put in or not also both will work laugh.gif

And for triple booting, should can do as long as you can manage the partition well nod.gif

Added on July 28, 2010, 10:36 amOr maybe want can do a new version of Ubuntu installation drool.gif

Soon you'll find Linux handles a lot of tasks faster and better then Windows.

Thats why I use OSX for normal day to day task and Windows for gaming and other things. Its cool , you should install it nevertheless and unleash the power

Oh wait , no antivirus. You can even open infected thumb drive ,edit documents and such !
*
+1, use Ubuntu to open thumb drive and delete all suspicious files laugh.gif..easy icon_idea.gif
