Hello fellow BenQ friends.
I'm an owner of a BenQ s42.
I am considering to get a cooling pad for my benQ. But i don't just want to buy any type of cooler. Why?
For those using S42, you may have noticed that the front left side of the laptop gets hot really quick when playing games as that's where the 9600GT lies. I'm looking for a cooler which specifically has a fan over the left side. And not just one big one in the middle. Get what i mean?

Any s42 users who have found a suitable cooler for your laptop?

Alright. Thanks mate. I shall check that out.
Any other advice for BenQ s42? Any particular driver updates i should consider? Or additional devices i should buy to make better with my laptop?
I dislike the fact about the left bottom [Fn][Ctrl] though. Wished i could switch em.

Well, used to get annoyed with the keyboard but now totally fine with it tongue.gif....want to play games without the heat to annoy you (and also the Fn/Ctrl), USB KEYBOARD is the answer nod.gif...

If got a vacuum cleaner, suck all the dust in any available holes you can find icon_rolleyes.gif sure will be less heat after doing this tongue.gif

Are there any other Bluetooth Management softwares to use besides the one that came with the cd?
Maybe a 3rd party program to manage all the bluetooth related stuff on my laptop. I don't like the bluetooth management that was pre-installed. It's pretty lame.

As for the intel wifi, so far they are perfect only for 1.5.x osx while for SL, it only recognized it as ethernet port. Maybe should experiment with yukon kext for the s42 ethernet port..hurm hmm.gif

So, only works with 1.5 sad.gif...hope they can figured out how to make it work in SL (and if it would then sure won't be a problem anymore changing to OSX laugh.gif)...

Starcraft II causes overheating problems
Blizzard has admitted that its latest Starcraft II game has a bug which can cause a GPU to go into meltdown.

The game's menu screens aren't framerate-limited which means that if the computer has nothing else to do the graphics hardware gets bored and starts to render the screens. This sounds like a good thing but actually causes overheating problems for the card.

The good news is that it is a doodle to fix. If you go into  "Documents\StarCraft II Beta\variables.txt" "Documents\StarCraft II\variables.txt" file and add in the lines frameratecapglue=30 and frameratecap=60 everything goes much better.

It is strange that while Blizzard have admitted that there is a problem, it has not really notified people about it.  Still it is nice to have a fix and if your GPU has not melted down to China you can probably give it a go.
