i have problems maintaining my ph..i added ph down yesterday to make the ph about 6.6 then today it went back to abt 7.2..been going on for days. any suggestions?

hmm, really uh? i doubt it does.

hmm, try using the spray bar and point it slighty upwards la. so the pressure won't be directly on the plants.
if u restirct the flow using controller, it'll affect the flowrate.  unless u really wanna reduce the flowrate, get a ball valve with hose connection la.. can buy in hardware.

Added on August 5, 2010, 9:37 pmsince my glosso was growing upright with very small leaves, i decided to add two more t5 tubes.

so, i'm currently running 6 pieces of 21W T5 tubes. so in total 126W for a 75G tank. So the watts per gallon is 1.7W per Gallon. u guys think it's ok?

i also read that T5 can only penetrate 15 inches deep in the water? right now from my t5 to my glosso is about 18 inches.

is it really necessary to trim the glosso. coz right now it's only about 1 inch long from the soil.

if this lighting is not enuf, my next resort wud be to change 2 tubes to 36 watt.

there's something u need to understand. here's a pictorial diagram to aid my explanation:



if u look carefully. this is an elaborate version regulator. some are slightly simpler.
note that all the parts actually independent and can also be changed idependantly in the event of any malfunction.

things that are holding all the parts together are somply pneumatic fittings..

so, if only the solenoid valve is leaking, then u can actually change the solenoid valve only. that looks like this without the fittings:



u dun have to change the whole thing.. it's just matter of knwing where to look for the parts. maybe i can help.
But. if i'm the one who's mistaken and u knew all this already , then sorry la...

perhaps it can be useful to those who dun know it yet...

Oh, and also. u can always incorperate a solenoid valve with the simple gaugeless regulator to make it canggih. Again, u just need a separate solenoid valve and a few pneumatic fittings..

the algae outbreak happened in my tank when i increased from 4 t5 tubes to 6 t5 tubes la.. plus after i added the 2 hagen tubes, bizzerk la.. hahahah

well, it's getting much better now with the cleanup crew i added...hopefully in few more days it will be all clean..
i'll be trimming my rotala botak like how chuppy suggested in a few days.. maybe saturday... who ever wants can take la.. but dun fight uh.. LOL
