QUOTE(Monsterjin @ Aug 11 2010, 07:07 AM)
which means that, if it ever gets dirty, you should clean it "gently"?
*
Nah, i never treat my equipment gently, Glassware or not, ADA or not. they have a purpose to serve me, I don't serve them. wahaha

( I use a brush for the inlet, wipe them clean, and for the hard to reach parts. Soak in clorox (bleach)

Opps!!! thanks for the correction... well, i guess i was wrong huh? it's very viable coming from a person who has used both types. thumbup.gif

thanks for coming forth and makin it clear for us.. or atleast for ME.
yea it's a definately an upgrade for asthetic purpose.. drool.gif

Moe, youre not all wrong. YOure quite right. the difference in function is very much almost the same. lol

But be in the hobby enough, and you would find glasswares are such a hassle ( at least i found out the hard way)

It's not beachsand. never use beachsand for planted tanks.. affects pH.

It's riversand.. but mine is prepacked and branded by ADA.. shirui white sand >.>

Rainbar causing less flow? sure boh?

IMHO, they create jets, which in turn makes my plants twirl here and there lol.

IMHO again, I use a lilly pipe to diffuse the high flow rate from the filter (a.k.a. reduces jet effect but still give enough total tank turnover )

But that's just me. I avoid using them cause they create too much turbulence in my tank.. (maybe the overpowered filter is to blame LOL )

hey as long as it works!

@moe,
1st trim. i usually trim as low as i can.. maybe leave just 1 inch + left? but its risky if you don't know what you're doing as I dont replant..

I usually let the bottom stem part to stay healthy as well so it bushes itself automatically without the need to replant.

as you know once you trim, one stem turns into 2 /3 stemmed plants. the second trim, just trim those 2/3 nodes, then youll end up with 6+ stems , all from a single stalk! (means youre trimming upwards per trim.)

I hope you understood as I also have a hard time explaining on how to trim tongue.gif

yes they (the leaves ) will decay. but as long as it is still rooted down and not melting then it's good enough.

I've seen some peoples rotala bottom part of botak stems actually melting off.

that guy making good money from you lol.

Its like, why buy petrol when no car ( or any engine like tools ) >.>

Well try this, I'm not sure how you set the stuff up. Stop dosing fertilizers..

Anti chlorine dose with water change only..

Whats the soil you're using? What filter? Tank size? any Picture??

Do you WC 10-20% daily? tongue.gif Well, go ahead and doubt me all you want.
But I got this mindset from the western forums(thats where i started out).

Sure they dont want any loss to happen. But do you know how much they bring in in the start? how they minimize losses?

IMHO, theyre just doing enough for them to survive. Im talking about keeping your fishes Alive AND Happy.
