That's why i am wondering if there is different btw manufacturer and official ATI? Who knows, the manufacturer twist the driver a bit and work great for their card? smile.gif
*
based on my experience with Asus And Sapphire cards, no i dont think the driver that you can download in their website is modified so it will perform better.

There u go, just so u know, I also dunno y this can happen when everyone says it shouldn't downclock  biggrin.gif
*
this is because you havent change anything yet in msi afterburner, you just open it and thats all. If you change it and click apply, it will stay at your defined setting, it wont downclock itself

I like these recent drivers though, all the video related stuff are played through the graphic card instead of the CPU.
Even Youtube revs my card from idle you 400mhz.

Yeah, a hotfix is really needed now!

Really? So I can use back WMP instead of Splash PRO to watch HD movies now, great..

Care to share the link? thx

Yes, but cant actually believe the review as their country temp. is cooler than us malaysia...but from one review, the load hit 74C (toxic) while reference hit 77C..not much diff but d fan noise is much better...
and from overclock review, d load hit max 50C under 100% fan speed lolz...
so it will be much better if got actual temp from lyn forumer  smile.gif
*
I see. I'm using XFX non reference 5850, will do the temperature test for you maybe tomorrow.

ati mobility driver need to get from the laptop manufacturer's website.

http://www.amd.com/us/products/notebook/gr...0-partners.aspx

look for drivers at the manufacturer's driver/support section.

I know as resolution go higher, bottleneck shifts from CPU to GPU. but would i benefit much from going core i5-750 or PIIX4 955, bearing in mind playing at 3150x1680 (portrait mode eyefinity)
*
I went to Toshiba website, and it's outdated already, the latest ATi driver was from year 2008.

It's Toshiba Sattelite M300, and the graphic card is mobility Radeon HD3470..

Please anyone know where to download the CCC other than from ATi website, coz the one in ATi website is corrupted, the file size is only less than 1 MB

try checking the dvd that came with the laptop for default drivers. or wait for windows update to find the appropriate driver for you. laptop graphic drivers are usually tailored for OEMs only and don't receive regular (or any at all) updates from ATI. (sorry AMD)
*
It's outdated since the laptop is also 2 years old. Well if that is the case, too bad sad.gif

I'm using XFX 5850. What is the best driver to download now? The latest driver?
*
I'm using XFX 5850 too and using CCC 10.8 now without any problem.

HD5670 is best in the range...9800GT is very old laugh.gif
*
the problem is i dont know what other card is in that range (preference: that requires the least power supply)

QUOTE(skylinelover @ Sep 19 2010, 11:08 PM)
lolz y the downgrade laugh.gif doh.gif get something like 5870 if u spend about 1500 4 the 2900xt last time brows.gif icon_idea.gif 2 answer your question,,,i say is way slower like hare n tortoise race like that haha
*
I didnt spend 1500 for my 2900xt last time, its my 3rd backup PC, i guess i spent like 2XX-3XX last time on that card, i just bought 50" LG Plasma TV and connected that PC to it, and the images are horrible, so i thought its time to upgrade that card, but i dont want to spend so much on that old PC, maximum of RM350 for the GC upgrade, now my problem is that PC has 380W PSU, going for 4xxx series is just wrong as it will require me to upgrade my PSU as well and it is contrary to what i want which is not spending so much money on that pc.. hope anyone can shed some lights smile.gif

I would recommend Radeon HD4850 over Radeon HD5670 anytime.
Simply, because Radeon HD4850 pawns Radeon HD5670 in term of performance!
*
If this is true, then its too bad for me.. I just checked on ATI website, 4850 requires 450W while 5670 requires 400W

Actually, Cap Ayam PSU also can setup the Radeon HD5670.
Because there's an user tried a Cap Ayam PSU on a Radeon HD4830(consume more power than Radeon HD5670) and it worked nicely.
AMD/ATi doesn't said it REQUIRES, they only said it's RECOMMENDED only. RECOMMENDED doesn't mean MUST.
Recommendation Watt needed are always too much compared to the actual real world needs.
*
cap ayam refers to a brand, but still how many watt is that cap ayam PSU that he used? because my 380W is also cap ayam LOL biggrin.gif

Usually, what(Watt) stated on Cap Ayam PSU is 50% lesser.
So, a 500W Cap Ayam PSU usually only can deliver about 250W.
*
wow 50% that's really bad. It means my cap ayam PSU only deliver 180W rclxub.gif
