conclusion is that we stay at 10.4 will b the best at the moment?

for me, I believe the update is not only to get the 3dmark score higher, but there must be some fix and update in other areas, so I'm sticking with 10.7 biggrin.gif

Is this normal? When using 10.6, I saw a check at DirectCompute.
Now using 10.7 and it seems like DirectCompute is absent. rclxub.gif

hey guys regarding my DirectCompute problem..I saw something weird..
user posted image user posted image
picture on the right is mine, while picture on the left is moshpit21's. At Driver Version, mine shows XP although I am running Win7 while his shows Win7.
I've uninstalled the driver again and using the OS standard vga driver, Gpuz shows Vista/Win7, but after installing the driver, Gpuz shows XP.

What seems to be the problem here?
my mind's blown rclxub.gif
*
lol, i really thought you're still running on XP you know hahahahaha..

btw i recently downloaded the latest gpu-z, let me upload it again, there's some differences now as well..

good for overclocking..

factory oc card have voltage lock like mine..

its not only factory oc'ed card have voltage lock, any non reference board is voltage lock, like mine.. XFX 5850 (non reference and non oc).

With stock voltage i can only do 865 / 1150

Why? It's very strange. Because MSI Afterburner supposes can do that on all GPUs.
*
Based on what I read everywhere, there is no way you can change the voltage on non reference card (unless bios hack).

non reference card is not only factory OC'ed card.

just like mine, it is non reference card and it is not factory OC'ed card

it looks like this: http://www.vgadownload.com/wp-content/uplo...eon-HD-5850.jpg

There are alot information you can find in some forums. Do google it.

I'm interested with this one, but I'm still busy right now. I know doing this thing have to be carefully and patient.

Asus and MSI non-reference boards also have good OC capabilities due to SmartDoctor and Afterburner software support. Not sure whether the custom cooler for the 5850 DirectCU is good enough though as HardOCP found it inadequate for the 5830 version.
*
Asus and MSI non-reference boards are good not only because they do have support from their good software. But its hardware also.

So i just want to share to everyone about what i read recently, non reference boards (except ASUS and MSI) are using a cheap voltage regulator, hence you cant do much with the voltage (cant do voltage tweaking).

And another thing i want to share for now about the Catalyst 10.7

Now i can reach 875 core with stock voltage, previously with Cat 10.6 i cant even reach 870 (crash when running 3dmark Vantage). So its an improvement there even tho i know it is a small amount.

I attached the screen shot.

that mean ur idle clock is 765/1000 rite???
if that so,that why ur idle temp is high bro.... smile.gif

yeah that explained it, and makes me thinking IMO if this factory OC'ed card will not be automatically underclock on idle it is a disadvantage. Is every factory OC'ed card like that?

some report cannot.. that's why confused..  rclxub.gif
supposedly non-ref got extra features..
*
maybe you read it wrongly. But bear in mind, you need to use software to change the voltage, and people usually use MSI Afterburner (even though your card is not MSI)

I believe the software is not about enhancing performance, but more into specific gaming profiling..

their differences will be 1c-2c only.. same as arctic cooling mx2 n mx3. google up n read the reviews will ya?

in logic i believe it will be vary, it depends on how hot your card comes from hehe.. because i dont think every card have the exact same temperature even tho its identical card.
