only bugged forceware can enable physx. normally what nvidia does is that they will set a code in the driver to disable physx if an ATI card is detected in the same system. personally i think that's just stupid. imagine the tons of money nvidia could get if people using ATI cards wanted to buy nvidia cards just for physx use. it could number in the hundreds of thousands.

honestly, the 5670 is your best bet.

anything from nvidia sucks too much power.

anything more powerful from last generation also uses more power (due to larger 55nm technology)

do you mind guiding me how to set the subtitles to be in the black bar?

what i normally do is to force 16:10 aspect ratio in VLC and MPClassic.

but the subtitle will overlap the bottom screen.

yes! 16:10 FTW! but its hard to find 16:!0 screen these days. most new screens come out with 21.5" or 23" and they are made for 16:9 resolution.

why you so easy believe them? if old hardware still can handle why ATI keep release new GPU. new games always put new effects so new hardwares will look difference with old. this is why we are going to upgrade again and again.
*
i believe what they meant was that older hardware can still support the new games to run smoothly. just without all the eye candy turned up.

i think the 6870 will be having performance between 5870 and 5970.

It'll be just like in the past, the 4870X2 perform better than 5870, but slower than 5970.

QUOTE(karhoe @ Oct 4 2010, 01:15 AM)
Guys, I'm having this Radeon 4200 onboard card on a AMD 790 chipset motherboard.

It has one HDMI and DVI which according to the manual shares the same input so obviously I cannot have dual monitor configuration.

BUT can I have clone monitor configuration if I have 2 similar monitors plugged one into HDMI, one into DVI ?
*
no you can't. only 1 output can be active at a time. if both are plugged in, i believe only the first one will be detected. This is the same for all onboard graphics because they only have a single clock generator for dvi/hdmi/vga signalling.

not enough power going to your graphic card or a pcie connector has become loose. check your cable connections.

my speculation is, Eyespeed is 3D like nvidia 3D surround. why? cos 3D gaming needs 120hz monitor and that's twice the refresh rate of normal monitors (60hz) so you can consider that to be 'faster', hence the eyeSPEED name.

It's not that hard to decipher once you know the details.

6870 mid to high end, 6950, high end, 6970 super high end, 6990 (dual card) ultra high end. anyway, another 8 more days and the answer will be crystal clear. wink.gif

gtx400 series cooler does look cooler. and also more effective since it can handle a sun like fermi. or ATI could just copy one of the aftermarket cooler designs like twin frzr or accelero twin turbo but modify it a bit to not get into legal hot soup and call it stock design.
