i set as shutter priority, so get as much ambient, ntg to do with gears. I could bump up shutter, jz flash would fire harder, thats all

then why not just get a PnS? its cheaper and is much smaller, so you can put it in your jacket or bag easier

sunway convention centre? lighting is very tricky there. sweat.gif

nice moment though laugh.gif

all those professional photogs damn pro lo..

almost 70% of them was using bounce flash more than 70 degrees when the ceiling the at least 7 meters high at the lowest point..

finally someone knocked some sense into them after 1 hour when they started to use direct flash. ok, maybe they were using iso 1600 or and above or 1/30 shutter all the time? oh well. sweat.gif [/rant]

Sometimes ppl point the flash up doesnt mean they dont know what they're doing la. Don't simply conclude that they're lousy photogs. Coz proper way to use a Stofen is to point it up to let it do it's job.

yes, lighting is seriously haywire... as i nearly always shoot jpg, its a test of skill shooting there.. inside there are very cool temperature violet tube lights, warmer flood lights and if flash, will be at 5500K which doesnt fall in either of the 2 temperatures, at the reception there's warmer than usual tungsten, and huge 20meter ground to ceiling skylight window giving diffused sunlight from the side and suddenly the there's a wall blocking the sunlight, so tungsten light dominates again, all in the vicinity of a reception table..

7 meters is nothing, even calculating bounce distance, is only 14 meters, there's still plenty of juice from the flash... adding with ISO 1600 (lets say), then it would be even further. i've successfully lit up a subject nearly 50 meters away, and it was nearly overexposed. and that was using my A100

after 1 hour, presumably every shot they take was with flash, battery could be slower to charge up the flash capacitors, so, if me, i'd use direct flash for a lesser discharge, thus more accurate flash power at every subsequent shot

edit: miscalculation, 7 meters high doesnt mean 14meters bounced, as that would mean firing straight up.. if 70 degrees angle up, would mean 7.45 meters diagonally, which means 14.9meters, about 15 meters bounce.. which this could mean (and this is fact usually very few ppl take into consideration when bouncing the flash) that the subject distance is approx. 5 meters away

i ONLY use AWB when outdoors in bright sunlight.. else, its always custom.. be it manually setting the Kelvin values, or using a white/grey card, in fact, even when outdoors, i'd still custom it to prevent different color shifts in a set of photos. AWB can be a bit hit or miss sometimes.

why 2 hours? how is the lens arriving?
