@william: hi, you got any basic guidelines on what angle bounce
to use when the subject is at this xxx distance from you? Also, usually when you use flash, do you use A, S or full manual? I'm kinda noob when it comes to flash

use the rule of reflection. the angle of incidence equals to the angle of reflection. so another words, the flash should be directed to somewhere in the centre of you and subject given that the flash is in bounce. i usually use A in normal shooting, and S if i want my shutter to stay at around 1/25 ~ 1/40 to take in ambient light. manual in cases where both the former modes give wonky metering results.

one Q : i noticed sometime when i use flash the WB became unbalance, sometimes yellowish. Tried doing the custom but pretty much no good either.. how eh?
what u mean by flash, then WB becomes unbalanced? are u on AWB or flash WB? on AWB, the camera will detect that you have a Sony flash (only works on f42 and f58) attached, then it will set the body's WB to flash WB. so it should give about the same result as flash WB. i dont really fancy using flash WB as it makes it a bit too warm. in that case, i'd set the custom WB to 5400K, +1 Magenta. then tune the kelvin to taste depending on the incident lighting.
another factor is the surface you are bouncing off. if the wall/ceiling is painted a deeper color, the bounced light will bring in some of the color of the paint. usually, custom WB will keep things constant. if all hell breaks loose, there's still RAW/cRAW

Added on July 24, 2010, 7:35 pmwith that kind of noise processing on the NEX's CMOS, the coming new alphas seems to be VERY VERY promising. but i'll hold my judgement till when it actually comes out
