lol im the source of flaming thread guess.. haha.. comparing alpha and eos.. btw, i like both.. is tough to make decision

Dont worry..I am very open to discussions...there's nothing to flame or argue here also
I din say that the photo quality sucks. Just that the colour is too soft and not up to my liking.

Maybe it is on default setting?
But seriously, I am still impressed by the ISO control ...

dun need think la..buy Leica M2..

why not u list up all the pros/cons..

nex is nice.. and i tried it ald.. but still i prefer alpha 550

Chill la. It is not even a flaming conversation, yet. You guys are just over-reacting.
No worries of what model or brand, as long as everybody is happy with their purchase, nobody has the right to interfere our lives. (Gosh, sounds so serious)

If it's a tough decision, get both

1 a550 and 1 eos550... hahaha... use both, then see which one you like, and sell the other one away
If not, keep both..2 bodies is useful

Be neutral lar no need so spearheading

Both have their advantages and disadvantages

If you want to pick between A550 and 550D here's some comparison :

On Alpha A550

-Street price now is cheaper than the EOS 550D but closer price range than the EOS500D
-It have 5 FPS ability (550D only 3.7FPS) and 7 FPS (non-AF tracking, locked focus and exposure on first shot)
-It have better color dynamic range / color separation compare to 550D together with high dynamic range (HDR) features
-Built-in IS which works on any lens you attach
-Dual Live View mode: Quick 4FPS Live View togethe with x11 magnify MF Live View as all the other traditional DSLR does

On EOS 550D

-Movie Mode on full hd
-Better IS performance on the kit lens (Viewfinder will get the stabilizing effect when you zoom on long focal range)
-Has bundle PC-Software for PC Remote control
-Smaller size compare to A550
-Sharper edge or image (compare to Sony 1855SAM) on the kit lens
-Slightly larger viewfinder

So if you're in sports or action photography or prefer using some cheaper price good quality lens which doesn't IS but you want the IS experince, I say A550 maybe your consideration

If you're not hype on action shooting, like the IS-Lens system which benefits you to get stabilize effect on both viewfinder and the image, prefer movie in the package, 550D maybe your consideration

ya... we are sharing the same hobby, photography.

u use a550, you snap photos
u use eos550, u snap photos too...

both are the same thing...we are in the same interest. So whichever you choose, you still in the photography network...

Of course, you come Alpha thread, sure we recommend alpha camera

Now the contradiction.

if my daddy is uncle lim in genting, i dun mind getting both.. haha.. perhaps getting an alpha 990 at that time.. too bad my pocket is not deep enough to get both

Do you have friends or family members who are into DSLR as well?
Then choose the one they have and can share share lenses and accessories around.

P/S : Aiya, this is normally just an excuse. most of my frens dont wanna pinjam lens to other people one =.=

fren using eos 500 and no one use alpha.. some of them use d90.. frankly, i dun like nikon.. dun ask me y.. when i tried it in nikon center.. i juz feel tat is not my type
