First 2 maybe, but the third is quite good.

This is the best the movies will ever look IMO, the source is not in the best condition in the first place. If they remaster it could end up like the new Predator UHE which is much worse.

Their must willing to spend big money like "Godfather" series to restore those films. Although, I don't think I am going to buy even though I really like Die Hard series more than Rocky. wink.gif

Here is some interesting news about Alien Anthology - Alien/Aliens quoted from Amazon's forum:

QUOTE
M. Stifler says:
Aliens. The one everyone is worried about after JC said he was de-graining it. Well, here it is in all it's Glory! With grain!

http://hcc.techradar.com/playback/coming-s...aliens-07-09-10

And here's Alien:

http://hcc.techradar.com/playback/coming-s...-alien-06-09-10

Both of these movies appear to have received an excellent transfer to Blu Ray. Now all that's left on my wishlist is a cheaper price and/or Region-free from the UK.

For anyone who wants comparison shots, go here and scroll down a little to post 3052:

http://forum.blu-ray.com/blu-ray-movies-no...2010-a-153.html
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mr. Stifler from what I read we get two versions of Aliens, the regular version with all the grain and the Directors Cut/ Extended Cut which JC removed all the grain and was controversial. I love grain but am curious to see the Directors cut to see what changes he made.
Here ia the article talking about how he only degrained the one version.
http://www.highdefdigest.com/blog/aliens-dnr-paranoia/

According to this article every movie gets two versions. I read somewhere the Alien 3 Workprint version is way better. It is David Fincher I think he is a genius.

http://www.highdefdigest.com/news/show/20t...or_Blu-ray/5070

p.s. I really can't wait for this to finally come out.

Another movie for demonstration quality of audio.

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time

user posted image

QUOTE
The DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio soundtrack is demonstration quality and is sure to please those who like to play their systems loud. This recording has wide dynamic range and boasts superlative clarity and high level detail. Dialogue is definitive and appreciably lucid through the center channel as it reaches far into the room. It’s located just slightly in front of the left/right speakers within the acoustic space it occupies in the soundfield. I never had any trouble distinguishing even the slightest changes in the pitch or inflection of voices. Front channel separation and imaging was excellent. This drew out both large and small sound elements and allowed their directional correlation based upon the onscreen events to be definable. The mix makes effective and often use of the surround channels to extend the front soundstage and reproduce the spatial and discrete sounds of this sometimes aggressive soundtrack. This is a dynamically strong sound mix that utilizes low frequency effects to provide viscerally potent bass response that energizes the room.
