For me it is a near perfect death for Joffrey. There's absolutely no honor or glory in his death. The most powerful man (or boy) of Westeroos suffered and died in agony while his family and entourage could only watch helplessly. Here he was behind massive walls celebrating yet another Joffrey Day, thinking he was safe from any danger and then without warning, death came and took him so swiftly and without mercy. The Lannister has took one when they have least expected it.

Heh. I thought it was an awesome EP and i reckon it's my favourite EP this season. Sad to them go but Grenn had the best send off for the entire series - possibly the most heroic death, which we all know is never given to any characters. It was a good death.

RIP Ygritte sad.gif

I think for the tv audience (particularly to those not familiar with the books), this ending is more fitting. The closing scenes with both Arya and Tyrion travelling away opens up possibilities and will pique the audience's curiosity and interest. Much like the final scene where Arya is staring out in the horizon, the uninformed audience will also be wondering what lies ahead. What mystery or sadness or shock awaits them. I thought it was a good finale and even better closing scene. Next year can't come soon enough.

some storyline in the series already on book 5..some not even finish the book 3..

after this..the seasons will be no longer tied to the books number..it will be better to count them based on the progress of the storyline..

almost sure  that book 4 and 5 will be merge and split to be 2 or 3 season..

book 6 better be ready after that..

Yep. Book 4 and 5 are actually one big book with events taking place simultaneously. There's actually a fan made recompilation of the chapters in book 4 and 5 so that you can read it as one complete book but i haven't gotten around to reading it yet - not even sure if i have it in me to read it haha.

Season 5 finale one of the great pothole is the giant successfully broke into the wall gate ... the fight with 5 people who sacrifice was not fully emphasize ... Jon Snow discovered they successfully stopped the giant but there was no action scenes..

It does look like . The lord of the ring season 4 finale... great tv series ever... all the finale was awesome ... it make people wanted to watch it again and again

Yeah i was wondering about the giant scene. I think it could had been told better but perhaps there was just not enough running time for them to fully showcase the fight.

But i think they made it work at the end. Even tho i was left to worry about their fate, the fact that the giant never breached the interior meant it had been defeated. I just didn't fully know the fate of those 5 guys until Jon inspected the aftermath.

By far my favorite ep of this season. Every scene is gripping, and good performances all around.

Tyrion acing the job interview, while his sister getting smacked about. Giant and walkers. Arya leveling up, and Jon snow winning a boss fight. The good guys are scoring loads of points here biggrin.gif

They spend less than 10 minutes to develop that character to make her seems important and then...killed her.
I seriously thought that she is a character, Val, from the books as well.  doh.gif

I really liked her sad.gif

But i don't think the build up of her character is meaningless. I think they wanted a fallen hero who could connect with the audience. What's better than a battle hardened mother who fought to her death so her children could escape. The way she died is also quite tragic. She fought valiantly but the sight of little wrights overwhelmed her. Everyone has a breaking point. And finally, the sight of her rising from the dead wouldn't invoke as much emotion if she was just some random wildling with no back story.

Stannis has always been a real a-hole. He's been burning people alive from season 2. This is the same guy who murdered his own brother and had no qualm to do the same with his own nephew. If you go back to when he and Melisandre had a chat after the Blackwater defeat, she did say to him that he would eventually betray his own people and family. We now see him fulfilling that 'destiny'.

On the deed itself, i can understand it from the show's narrative. He had very little choice here as he was losing the war of attrition. His army is stranded in winter and running out of supplies. Ramsay saw to that. Morale is low and he already lost few men from desertion. In short, he was facing annihilation. It was either retreat or magic, he chose the latter because his ego prevented him from retreating.

Yeah i knew the vale would come but the episode is so well crafted and directed that it really didn't matter for me. The battle was still awesome and engrossing. Reminds me of Saving Private Ryan. I knew they would make it off the beach but the film never held back and just kept on giving. Same with this episode, it's just fking relentless. Love it!
