Just picked the first and 2nd ep. Show does starts with a bang and although i've already read the books, to actually experience those things visually is quite disturbing to say the least. So much boobness and taboo on screen, our censor board will have a field day with it haha.
The direwolves look majestic tho and it's what the fans been waiting to see.

QUOTE(swks26 @ Apr 6 2012, 08:15 PM) I guess Melisandre has more of that seductive with words kind of looks. The way she speaks is quite hot. It is indeed words like a goddess lol. Yeah i think that was the intend behind her casting, she's is rather plain looking but that fiery hair and the way she plays with words elevates her sexiness. Besides, the 'plain' look is rather common in the series. There are some really bad looking women in the series but i don't mind it at all because it only adds to the authenticity of the settings. Have you seen that new Merlin or King Authur series ? Guinevere looks like a modern sex in the city kinda gal and it totally kills the immersion.

QUOTE(xy2610 @ Apr 6 2012, 08:40 PM) The answer will be a big spoiler. Sorry mate! I find that scene is very wrong for a few reasons. First, they are not in love like Jaime and Cersei. Even though, that is wrong between the Lannisters. Oh, and the Targaryen. Second, I find Yarra not irresistible at all. Third, Yarra/Asha did resist Theon approach in the book even though she did lead him on. Yarra just let Theon finger her on the show. I'm such a purist to certain extent. They will defe change a few things in the series to make it more presentable to the tv audience. The book readers would be expecting that scene at some point but imagine the impact of that scene for the tv audience experiencing that scene for the first time ? It would totally mess them up good haha. There's so much filth in just 2 episodes. Sometimes i wish that i've not read the book at all, must be glorious to experience it all visually the first time.

QUOTE(swks26 @ Apr 6 2012, 09:02 PM) Yeah, like the girl Theon was doing on the ship. Man, her boobs look so weird... Haha i know right. I was cringing the whole time during that scene. It was horrific. But it's still a great scene and essential for the tv audience because they would made to believe that Theon would sleep with anything that moves - this makes the revelation of him groping his own sister much more shocking and harder to swallow. QUOTE(tekplyrX @ Apr 12 2012, 01:38 PM) Well it all boils down to how greedy the tv network becomes.. in most cases it's not about the cost but how much they are willing to spend. Personally i don't see them cancelling the show because for a fact they have never had a hit show like this before, cancelling it will sure be a disaster for them. Thankfully large part of the settings can be shot on the natural landscape across the UK. I remember when Rome was cancelled because it was so expensive to design and create those sets. HBO came out saying some years later that they regretted this decision. I don't think they will repeat this mistake again.

Pullo was a proper badass haha. Man i miss that show.
But yeah, you are right the death of 2 lovers made the story much less appealing. Originally, the story arc of Cleo and Anthony was meant to be slowly developed in 2 separate seasons; season 3 and 4. Season 2 was originally planned to center around Brutus. Season 5, the final season, would tell the story of Jesus and how Rome dealt with him. But when HBO told season 2 was going to be the last season, the producers decided to just cramp everything into season 2 - minus Jesus.

Good episode this week. I am enjoying the build up of Theon and the Greyjoy. Him and Balon are giving some fanstastic performances, I'm already feeling sorry for Theon Tyrion's cleverly playing the court game was also great to watch. I just love the little man! Catheryn down south with Renly was also a welcoem change of scenery. The introduction of Brienne was superb! She's exactly how i imagined her to be.

Phenomenal ep! Most of the scenes are so intense and some are even hard to watch. Harrenhal and Qarth are superbly rendered. The locales are simply spectacular in this show. Such an amazing production.
The performances were once again spot on and I particularly like the presence of both Bolton and Tywin despite the limited minutes on screen.
Can't wait for the next one!!!!

Don't think so. Just one was severely spanked haha. The one spanking is Ros i think - the whore originally from Winterfel.

Awesome post xy. I really like how the narration is done by the characters in the series. The bluray seems like a must have collectible.

Enjoyed this week episode. Arya is adorable and the scene with Jaqen adds another depth to an already complex story. I too enjoy watching Stannis grow in the series but not as much as i enjoy watching Tywin on the screen. My favourite scene in this ep tho, is the babt dragon scene. Its a cute scene and a good change of scenery in this ep, and watching those 2 fine looking ladies feeding the drake is akin to watching 2 children playing with fire - in a way that's quite true isn't it ? haha.

I cant wait to go back and watch Ygritte! Oh and we still don' know the real identity of Jon Snow's parents. But Emino's hint is what i'm leaning towards to. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « I always get the impression that Ned felt awfully sad whenever he's with Jon. Like he had to go down to some painful memory lane and reminiscent a tragic event. It's not a pain from shame but regret and sorrow. Like being reminded of his dead daughter.

QUOTE(Shanashi @ May 8 2012, 04:24 PM) just watched the first scene of episode 6.....fu cking disturbing i must say.....the display of emotion is immense......how do u do smtg like that to someone u know as a child....gosh!! Amazing scene isnt it. The guy playing Theon is immense. You can see him being conflicted with the whole thing but at the end he just got drunk with the thoughts of power and status and did what he did. Oh Theon, may Roose have mercy on your soul hahahaha.

QUOTE(wlcling @ May 8 2012, 08:16 PM) lol ok.. I just felt so many characters.. didn't pay attention to their lines as well and in the end didn't feel absorbed in the story.... will restart lol... I like sorcery and.mysticism anyway.. GoT is essentially a political thriller sets in a gritty fantasy world. There are sorcery and other fantasy elements but it's not in abundance. But when they do showcase those elements, the quality of the sfx and design is up there among the very best tv or even cinema can offer. What i appreciate the most is scope of the production - well directed, amazing locales, brilliant actors and scripts, and the amount of details that goes into set and costume design is astonishing.
