divider or multiplier? I can't really get the full meaning of your sentence though yawn.gif
*
haha, don't care is divider or multiplier, their result will be the same.

i not sure what comment is this.. not helping any..

multiplier often referred to cpu multiply to fsb.. to get cpu speed..
divider normally is for fsb:ram bus ratio..

let's think of this normal circumstances.. the ratio would be..
1:2 where 200:400
200 = cpu fsb
400 = ram <-- this is where the ram can achieve 800mhz becoz of ddr u need to multiply to 2..

what if we raise the fsb to 290 by using that ratio (DIVIDER)?
it can be..
(290 x 2)/1 = 580 thus 1160mhz.. can ur ram withstand this condition?

so lower that ratio might HELP.. shall i calculate..
200:333
what the hell is this.. how i calculate my ram if i were to raised my fsb..
200:333 is equal to 3/5 how?

200/333 ~ 0.6 = 6/10 = 3/5 = 3:5

so if the fsb is 250 the ram speed would be
(250 x 5)/3 = 417 ~ 833mhz..

and not only that.. u need to play with the voltage and the advance timings..
*
sorry bro. notworthy.gif

i just mean no need care about the motherboard is using multiplier concept or divider concept.
although their implementation are different, but they will give same result.

just like:
base clock x dram multiplier = dram clock
200 x 2 = 400mhz

base clock / dram divider = dram clock
200 / (1/2) = 400mhz

and the multiplier or divider, usually will be in ratio form, that is:
base clock : dram clock = 1:2

no offence..

i donno where u get that ram multiplier..
what about other ratio?

i'm sure it's derived from the fsb:ram ratio..
it's actually 1:2 not just multiply by 2.. just that the answer is correct because it was divided by 1..

normally we refer the multiplier to the cpu..
*
newer amd phenom architecture using dram multilplier.
older amd athlon architecture using dram divider.

QUOTE(8tvt @ Jul 9 2010, 03:18 PM)
some board have 1,2,3,4,5,6 or what ever should refer to..
1- 400 (1:1)
2- 667 (3:5)
3- 800 (1:2)
4- 1066 (3:8)
5- 1333 (3:10)
6- 1600 (1:4)

what ever it is... it's still came from that fraction..
1- 1
2- 1.67
3- 2
4- 2.67
5- 3.33
6- 4

crazy jargon same like fsb and htt..
so just multiply that value with fsb will get the ram speed (don't forget to multiply by 2 for ddr)
easier isn't it.. but lost the concept..
*
ya, its all about maths.
but don't know motherboard implement multiplier logic circuit or divider logic circuit.

Crucial Ballistix Tracers are good.....I suspect its the LED that causes its short lifespan ~_~
Its darn hot.....
*
yalo, always heard about people say rma this ram.
looks like adding led in ram is still not a good idea.

With new manufacturing process nowadays, both Intel and AMD can clock at high speeds~~
Those were the days where AMD 3Ghz was like godlike to achieve haha
For Intel, it was 4Ghz

Now....both can easily do 4Ghz (performance aside, switched places) haha

I think my WC setup not that optimised....stock speed 2.2Ghz at 1.1V, idle at 28c load at 38-39c. Any comments?
*
hey, your cpu really cool. my one idle also 40c. sweat.gif

Even at stock speed and 1.1V?
*
yes, now core speed at 2.2ghz, vcore at 1.104v, 40c idle.

I see, thats a lot of difference
Currently me priming small ffts (heats up the CPU a lot more than blend)
And also testing my Crucial Ballistix Tracer RAM, which just came back from RMA recently, running at DDR1066 at 2.1v (Its hot weh!!! although LED blink blink ler)
My OCZ Reapers keep aside first tongue.gif

Below is the screenshot

Full loading at 40-41c (non aircond, freaking hot today ~_~)

*
wao, you should have a good cpu cooler and good air flow casing.

maybe crucial ram now got build in thermal sensor on it.

With tuniq tower CPU cooler, my idle also less tha 40c, around the 32-34c avg, full load around 50c

Now I am running on liquid cooling

wao, no wonder temperature so low on full load and without air cond. thumbup.gif

wao, should buy a better quality one, leakage is a headache problem.
how much you bought your current liquid cooler?

I check my Max FSB according to the guide on 1st page by increasing my FSB and decrease the multi
Guess what, my system crashes at 250MHz, FSB.

My 1055T got problem??

maybe the HT link speed cause it. hmm.gif
what is your HT link speed?

HT link also around 2000MHz, i try to make HT link, NB, Ram clock as close to stock frequency, but it still crashes

try clear cmos and overclock again, see can help or not?

so my situation is
Setup:
CPU 250x11.5=2875MHz
HT, NB~2000Mhz
Ram ~1322MHz(Stock 1333)
CPU T full load Max= 55 C
Voltage all at default stock

But system still crashes

so that means the proc cant go more than 250MHz?
*
maybe the kingston DDR3 1333 value ram prevent the base clock go further than 250mhz.
i also have kingston DDR2 800 value ram that prevent my pc base clock go beyond 265mhz. sad.gif

Yes..IGP really holding back the processor..i Suggest you LEND ur fren GC first and see if it really IGP culprit..but most of the time yes becos that processor is quite impossible to not reach 3.8Ghz..at least..

Or maybe you should buy aftermarket cooler smile.gif.
*
hey, is the IGP clock got relation with the base clock?

so whats the max with ddr 3..... especially 1600 ?
*
if the ram is for intel core i3, i5, i7 series cpu, usually is 1.65v one.
for amd system, i see got 1.8v one.

Aiyohhhh really hard to get 55c for 4ghz, even with the Noctua i'm using on push/pull also sooo hard.. sweat.gif
Been reading a few articles about HSF and got me thinking if the high temp is because of the design of HSF not being so compatible with AMD chips like maybe the heatpipe orientation or something.. hmm.gif
*
consider to lapped it? brows.gif

Model DFI Lanparty DK790FX M2RS SB 600.

use USB drive to flash bios is the usual way.
just have to make sure the power don't suddenly off.
but this is out of control, you will never know when the power will suddenly off.
maybe you can use UPS. hmm.gif
