Thanks for all your help!^^ Btw, does anyone of you encounter problems when using msn? This is actually my first time using win7, and yet I can't sign in my msn. It keeps displaying "Your contact list cannot be loaded bla bla..." something like that. I checked my firewall, followed all the solutions guide posted on the web, but it still did not solve the problem. Anyone knows the 100% work solution to it?

According to the previous post, you can try out Wubi. My ubuntu for this netbook isn't perfect.

If you don't like it, too much trouble, can always uninstall =D

The correct way to do it is by using HP recovery manager to create recovery disk which may require 2 or 3 dvd. After that you can delete the recovery partition because the dvd will restore back the partition when used to recover your pc to factory state.

So, the recovery disc sill restore both the C and the Recovery partition at the same time?
In that case, what happens if you have created an extra partition?
What will happen to it?

for free version i'd prefer avast.it has small sized updates and it doesnt need specific time to update like Avira do.

as for AVG, well, i don't have much trust in it since 5 years ago.

copy paste those line, in Terminal enter sudo then shift + insert to paste the command in.

First is

sudo mkdir -p /etc/Wireless/RT2860STA/

Next

sudo touch /etc/Wireless/RT2860STA/RT2860STA.dat

lastly

sudo service network-manager restart

Just type/copy-paste those in

^ That's why I say for the sound card you need to review the previous pages. I had provided a link, follow everything in that link even though it looks like a lot but its all essential. Follow the steps in the link.

Its a link to teach you how to update ALSA
