had a problem with the netbook speaker. apparently only one of the 2 sides works, and no matter which way i adjusted the speaker balance from the control panel, only one the right side work while the left side is soundless.

since i bought this 2nd hand, can i get a warranty cover from HP? no warranty card given to me when i bought it though...

there are serial number under the netbook?

try to look for it

By default (from factory):
C:\ is Windows partition (220GB)
D:\ is RECOVERY (13GB)
E:\ is HP Tools (99MB)

since the C is too large, thus i wanna shrink it, after i successfully shrink it, then i go format the new "Unallocated Partition" (to create New Simple Volume), but it pop out the problem as below... icon_question.gif

Heard of wubi , google for it , download. You can install ubuntu and keep windows. Dont like ubuntu , simply remove it from windows. You still preserve your MBR , recovery partition and everything else.

Easier this way rather then you going through a complicated method
*
thanks for the advise prasys ,

allready download the ubuntu installer .

gonna try it later

Anyone got this problem? The power adapter will just simply shut itself off suddenly regardless the switch is on.

Just shut off and the netbook will run on battery. Apparently mine just shut off itself lol

@fcuk90

I found out the way to use the RT3090 on HP Mini 110 for Ubuntu.

Open your terminal and key in the following

as root (or sudo before each line):
mkdir -p /etc/Wireless/RT2860STA/
touch /etc/Wireless/RT2860STA/RT2860STA.dat
service network-manager restart

What is the password for su btw?
*
dunno use ubuntu

zzz thanks bro.'
i cant understand what u type there .the wifi driver not yet install n i google i see many ppl face that too

^ click on "applications" > system tools > konsole

Uhhhhhh I am using KDE Now @.@ But IIRC it should be somewhere there. for GNome users, you are able to find Terminal instead of Konsole. The WiFi Driver is actually installed already.

Added on July 26, 2010, 12:02 pmOn another note, when 110 doesn't have GPS, can always get the wireless card with GPS built in oolololololol.

In Ubuntu, the sound doesn't work as well.
*
will give it a try bro . we don need to install driver right ?

i already update trough the update manager , just i cant find my driver in the hardware driver there

i m using ubuntu netbook edition
will try to type those in the terminal there.

QUOTE(prasys @ Jul 27 2010, 10:56 PM)
Whats the command

@win7 - Sorry , thats how it works. Thats why we have GPT. Sadly only OS that takes advantage (well two) are linux and umm OSX . Windows fails to see GPT (unless you're talking bout server/enterprise edition) . GPT allows you to dynamically resize and make new partitions from free space. You are not limited to 4 primary partitions. That means you can have like 15 OSes installed on one HDD !

mkdir -p /etc/Wireless/RT2860STA/
touch /etc/Wireless/RT2860STA/RT2860STA.dat
service network-manager restart

These 3 lines work for me. Just add in sudo in front of these lines will do.

Now I am concentrating on how to get ALSA to work. Already reinstalled Ubuntu 3 times rofl.
