Wateva: I have the same problems, leaving steam idle makes it impossible to launch games. I can't even launch indie games when it happens.

Not sure whats happening. Steam feels a bit unstable recently.

It's more like connection issue than Steam.

I can connect anyway, as long as there's no one sucking up all the bandwidth while I'm logging into Steam. TBh, if that happens, even your MSN will disconnect and reconnect thousands of time.

2nd thing, I still can start a game even after I idle for a day long. Usually, my PC is on like 24/7, I'll be idling like since 6am - 6pm and I still can start my game after that, without a need of restarting anyway.

I know that if I leave Steam idle for awhile and then I try to play a game, it will be the same as trying to start up Steam for the first time.

So usually, if I notice a game takes awhile to startup because I left Steam idling for too long, I just restart Steam and it loads up just fine.

That being said, I don't have the usual Steam connection snafus that you guys have, so for the most part, I don't have to go through the same crap that you guys do, so that's why I'm fine with it.

The only bug with Steam is the voicechat.
If you can't hear people when you on your voicechat, you had to restart your whole Steam anyway. :S

I meant the weeklong sale of Secret of the Magic Crystals, Space Siege and Football Manager 2010. I said "week of sale" instead of "weeklong" because I thought they made a typo. Turns out the word "weeklong" is in the dictionary, damn.

Is it me or steam is having difficulty to be connected? On 4mbps line it took many attempts to get into it and every attempts took more than 10 minutes.

I'll buy it at a high price!
