A.C.Ryan major shortcoming ,

doesn't support APE audio format.

There is no perfect products in the world. If u need the supporting of APE audio, may be u can look for TViX S1 or N1. It can support APE format.

hey guys,

I have a question here. Since I upgraded to latest firmware last month, every time I on my POHD it will prompt me to main screen and straight to format screen whether I want to proceed in formatting my HDD or not. It's very annoying as I can't figure out how to avoid that annoying pop-up so is there any sifus that can guide me how to get rid of that screen?

GUI2.0 is out for POHD but its not perfect.
Initially pleased with the menu layout but its another learning process to navigate around it.
Note that its more sluggish than previous menu. I think this is exposing the limitations of existing chipset in terms of process speed. Youtube is back, amongst other streaming.
Its NOT perfect, experienced a number of bugs, but initially tolerable. Again, the whole rigmarole of ironing out the imperfect and bugs.
If not fussy and just want straightforward playback of media files, the previous firmware is good somewhat with less serious bugs. I've custom set a few of those features in the setup to "off" to minimize any possible irritations. BT off, HDD scan auto off, plain menu listing, audio passthrough, those sorts.
Its too early to list them bugs, will tolerate them for now.

sorry sotong..i dont know what's that pps file? is it power point file?..mind to xplain so that i can try...i still haven't explore everything yet..1080p mkv streaming from pc is perfect ...downside is the xfer speed while copying files into internal HDD...nothing near gigabit...only managed to get 7.66MB/s which i would say normal 10/100 LAN speed..im not a prev. user of playon and still playing around with it to find the right setting..any link i could go to learn bout the configs.?

@bsl555, yeah, i somewhat find that auto scan is annoying too, it makes bdiso playback stuttering, mkv is fine tho'. thks for ur input btw.

@twisted12, pps is a chinese p2p online streaming app. something is not right with the tx spd, could it be due to auto scan? (i presume ur setup are gigabit compliance)

Well, as for this which is entirely new for the POHD, expect more imperfect issues to come. As I said earlier, people who don't want to face imminent troublesome issues or stable playback, don't upgrade just yet. I just play avi, mkv, dvd ISO image and mp4 files only. I'm hoping they're alright.
I found that subtitles need to be manually set to switch on, otherwise its defaulted as none. It was quite automatic previously. Will see hereon. Its all too early, just intial foolin around.

@sotong168 - my setup is a straight pc to playon hd2 since my router didnt support GB. Auto scan was able to detect GB mode but speed still the same...even made it fix to GB full duplex also doesnt improve the speed

Pls format the hard disk with POHD first, then this message won't prompt out. This is due to the format hard disk from POHD will create a partition for BT down load. Since BT download it one of player function, it cannot avoid the prompt message if u don't format with POHD.

pps is not supported. Bcoz streaming pps is illegal outside China and pps always changes the port. So, they decided not to make it supports pps.

Hi, mini2 is using RT1185 which is more powerful than mini. First, it has gigabit LAN, second can support DTS HD (although got a bug, new model, as usual), of course, TrueHD no problem, third can engage social network. Coming up online streaming is Neflix. More details pls log in to:

Already released but with teething issues. There's a AC Ryan forum, go there to check out user comments.

I want to copy from USB drive to the harddisk of AC Ryan (not mini) - but always the sign that shows not allowed to copy.
So i can't copy files to the harddisk! sad.gif

Can someone help in this? Is this common problem?

OR am i doing it wrongly?
I followed the steps from the instruction manual but can't. Any other ways??

Thats why I use external USB for best mobility. I can't be dragging my PC near the POHD just for maintenance, copying or loading in media. I don't need to say its much easier with external HDD to PC.
