Although you can connect an external USB DVD drive, the Playon!HD won't be able to play encrypted discs. Also don't expect all drives to be compatible.

RM399/- USB 3.0.
Technical specs 5Gbps, if your PC support USB 3.0. If not have to buy PCI-E card. Without card can use as normal USB 2.0 only. If connect to POHD of course only USB 2.0. This post has been edited by Ngto: Nov 24 2010, 11:29 AM |

QUOTE(sooieweng @ Nov 24 2010, 11:29 AM) I think advisable to get the Hotway USB 3.0 (RM399/-) + USB 3.0 PCI-E x1 card (about RM68/-). Copying your files within the 4x2TB drives and to and fro the PC HDD will be much faster than USB 2.0 interface. This post has been edited by Ngto: Nov 24 2010, 05:05 PM |

QUOTE(WereWolf84 @ Dec 1 2010, 09:07 PM) This type of 3D don't need any special hardware. They just use the two colours in conjunction with the glasses to separate the image for the left and right eye. For sure any media player can play them, just like an ordinary movie. This post has been edited by Ngto: Dec 1 2010, 09:44 PM |

But u will be surprised, as for the fair and introducing POHD E, for 1st buyer, it is offer RM9.00 only at Digital Life Style wor. Wanna get it? U must run to get the first place. Old man where can run, need to bring tongkat . Maybe use tongkat whack all those in front, then can get 1st in line Btw, What's the expected price of the screwless 2 Bay USB 3.0 Toaster you mentioned before in this forum? If join 2 units together can they become one single 4 Bay unit, which the POHD can recognise all 4 bays through 1 USB connection? This post has been edited by Ngto: Dec 3 2010, 09:55 AM |

QUOTE(rx330 @ Dec 10 2010, 11:04 AM) Go to your POHD setup option to checkout what your FW version is. It's probably version below 4368.If you don't want to upgrade to latest FW (4368 and above) , you can remux the movie with MKVtoolnix ('mkvmerge GUI' program), but make sure you disable the compression under extra option. |

QUOTE(rx330 @ Dec 14 2010, 05:08 PM) i remember the acryan PVR version, in spore selling for 399 i think, during the last pc fair 2 weeks back Unavoidable, because newer movies now use new compression features in the software to create the MKV file. So older POHD FW (and all other media players too) are affected by it.u shud have told me u have tat, i would have taken off u, sigma or real? Added on December 14, 2010, 5:09 pmy in order to watch a movie, i need to remux? so troublesome? Added on December 14, 2010, 5:10 pmthanks for the link... but y so troublesome? have to make sure u r on certain updates only can update to tat certain one? Those particular movies, you have to either remux without compression, or use the latest POHD FW that can play the compressed headers. FW upgrade -------------- If your FW version is old, using older SDK (2.0 and below) then you have to upgrade to FW3582 first (SDK 3.0) as a starting point (it contain some Boot Loaders) before upgrding to other versions above it. QUOTE(rx330 @ Dec 15 2010, 10:12 AM) ngto, thanks for your help You can look at this link as an example of Bug Fixes by Xtreamer pro (FW 2.4.2) for this compression problem - post #1326 by Hdwarexpert. :-the all the other media players statement i dun agree i have an old media player, which was last updated since god knows wen have no issue playing tat file, or any other file till now i guess this company still aint tat mature enough in their fw? mpyw, pm me the price and pix, kamxia http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1060841/+1320 Mede8er also has this problem which need FW fix and I even heard from a WD Live user , he has to use a third party fix to get his player to play these problem MKV (don't know if his problem is related to the Compressed Header problem or not). QUOTE(fongwan @ Dec 28 2010, 02:46 PM) Dear All, It's FW issue. I just bought my mini and I notice my mini will get hung sometime when I was browsing the hardisk. Once it got hang then i am force to restart the mini inorder to get it work again. Anyone experience this before. Is it the mini issue or my hard disk issue. Please advice as I would like to change from the vendor since still within one week. For POHD Big, newer FW all not stable (hanging) and got other issues. I am still using old Beta 4318 for Big POHD . For Mini , I am not sure which older FW you should use. But plaese take note that older FW have problem playing MKV that have compressed Headers. It's a difficult decision to make. This post has been edited by Ngto: Dec 28 2010, 10:34 PM |

Haha just format another blank drive, and transfer all your old files over
Don't make the same mistake I made. I once took out my Internal formatted drive, and plugged in a new 1.5TB Drive of movies (not formatted by POHD before). When I booted up the Format message was slow to appear. I pressed the OK button to select some option, but just at that exact moment the format message appeared and proceeded to format the drive. Needless to say the rest was History This post has been edited by Ngto: Dec 29 2010, 10:53 PM |

QUOTE(yangxi @ Dec 29 2010, 10:50 PM) Much faster if you use a Toaster with an e-Sata connection (using e-Sata bracket and cable provided with Toaster). Or better still use the newer USB 3.0 Docker/Bays (but need to buy USB 3.0 PCI-E card for best results, if your computer MB don't support USB 3.0 yet) |

Can't think of any other way. Anyway I think an internally formatted drive plays smoother because it creates some extra partitions for buffering for better playback, espc those demanding BD-iso/BDMV.
Take note , if you have a lot of BD.iso, don't use FW 4318. It got issues playing back BD.ISO smoothly, especially so when using an external drive. I suggest you use your PC to do the transfer. I don't trust the POHD copy functions (lost quite a number of files previously using the POHD to transfer). Suggested steps (if you don't want to open up your PC) --------------------------------------------------------------- 1) Put a new blank drive into the POHD and format. 2) Connect the old drive (with Movies) to your PC using external USB enclosure or Toaster Dock. 3) Connect the POHD to the PC using the USB Slave cable (the one with the small squarish connector on one end and the regular USB connector on the other end). 4) Switch on both the external drive and the POHD unit. 5) The PC will now detect both the POHD internal drive and the External one. 6) You can now do the copying from one drive to another. But of course copying will only be USB 2.0 speeds (as opposed to USB 3.0 or e-Sata method) 7) Just sit back and do something else, your patience will be tested This post has been edited by Ngto: Dec 30 2010, 01:57 PM |

QUOTE(rx330 @ Dec 30 2010, 01:53 PM) At times when you get impatient with the long loading times of BD.ISO JAVA, Previews, contents etc. on Full BD media players like Dune, you might want to try playing with POHD instead The movie loads and plays instantly, the moment you select the main folder (no need to search for the file yourself) and you can still get the simple (lite) Menus for chapters and Audio selection. Drawback is some movies don't playback correctly. This post has been edited by Ngto: Dec 30 2010, 02:09 PM |
