That's probably because you have your Assisted-GPS activated, which utilizes cell tower on your network, in this case, it's data packet. That's why you were charged.

Go to your control panel, connection settings, positioning, disable it.

It's not even a problem.

Core player is great for vids.. but for mp3, he should just use the default media player IMO

A-GPS gives faster locktime.. 10 cents is worth it smile.gif

GPS vs. A-GPS

* E72 supports internal GPS, Assisted GPS, Network GPS and bluetooth GPS.
* Internal GPS is the one really needed.
* Network GPS should be disabled to save cost unless you are on a 3G plan. This uses your 3G or GSM network to navigate some sort like google maps.
* A-GPS should be enable in my opinion as it takes up a few cents to get a much faster lock. After it gets lock onto the GPS satellite it doesnt charge any more until the next boot up to get a signal.
* Bluetooth GPS should be enabled if you want to use an external GPS device and not use the internal one.
* To enable or disable these GPS options, Menu > Control Panel > General > Positioning > Positioning Methods > Check those you want to enable and uncheck to disable.
* If you are the person who doesn’t want any charges during the usage of GPS disable all and leave “Internal GPS” check.

not necessarily, GPS will work even without the map.but im squeezing my grey matter, thinking that u meant the GPS software(OviMaps/Garmin), if so, then yes ur GPS can still work.but if you are looking for directions then either software must be loaded to the fone with the propers maps loaded as well.

yup, ovimaps you can easily update via OviSuite, for garmin you can lookup in Malfreemaps.

Yes, with latest firmware updated. Garmin work perfectly after the firmware updated to latest.
