What was the firmware that actually have that freaky problem again? SD15??
If it's still the same firmware, go ahead and ask Seagate to flash it for free, and your data still retain for some reason, or you can flash it yourself. (Do backup before proceed)
If you're still wary... then do backup daily or weekly for that hard disk, or you could just sell it off at cheap price

see if anyone willing to pick it up.

its already dead b4 becoz of the SD15..about 2 months ago.
i sent to them for that free SD1A firmware flash.
i checked the hdd health status using hdtune and got that 2 yellow highlighted bars thingy which is i dont understand and i presume its bad..lol..
if the hdd will dead soon..i really dont mind..just a bunch of movies inside which is i dont hv the time to watch..
just asking if i am eligible for a new hdd replacement so i can use it for serious matter such as raid etc..
