I should go out and buy a lottery ticket... my 3rd back-to-back RMAed 1TB WD Green 64mb drive with bad sector vmad.gif
Ironically, in the last 1 month since I bought the disk, the price has since plunged from $285 to $210-215... doh.gif

emmmm... i doubt it has anything to do with the PSU... the fact that they are "green" drives and consume 4-5w less vs the other drives in my rig makes me think maybe it has something to do with the fact that they are GREEN tongue.gif

and i have hdds from every other manufacturer including buffalo/samsung, hitachi, seagate and an aging 250gb WD running a-ok hmm.gif

Good luck with your GREEN coz my GREEN is not so green after all (it's RED with three XXX now!) and I was going to use it as a backup drive to store all my precious photos... so I guess that is now out of the question. icon_question.gif

may i know wats the difference between HDD of 32mb and 64mb??

which is better?

WD 64mb is an Advance Format Drive with a 4k sector size. If you plan to use it on Win XP, you need to download a utility from WD to align the drives or it will crawl like a baby biggrin.gif

don't be disheartened... hahaha...

the good about the wd greens... they are super quiet and green (as in low power consumption) if you plan on saving the earth and mankind. the bad is that i'm on my third rma... and i didn't even get to run any torture tests on them yet!!! fortunately they come with 3 years warranty whistling.gif
