QUOTE(Superkian @ Dec 26 2011, 03:08 PM) it is not encourage to do so lo,because if u accidentally drop on the floor,at least cover can have protection, chance to spoil is slim. other than that,if ur drink accidentally tumpah to it, ur naked hdd kapu lo... becareful that tikus or cicak will go inside ur naked hdd too. beside that, alot of dusk will goes inside naked hdd...so can effect the durability and reliability 1. Not if you use the HDD enclosure...

Really don't really know when the prices will be back to pre-flooding. So, if your data is important, it may be worth paying higher.

QUOTE(super macgyver @ Jan 10 2012, 09:43 AM) remember to provide the receipt for ur buyer loh most of my fren their wd and seagate can easilly get spoilt around 1yr. so far my buffalo and other frens 2 buffalo not yet got issue yet. for myself, i either go for buffalo or samsung for my next purchase. But samsung one design seem ugly lor. buffalo is not the make/ brand of the HDD. It is just the HDD enclosure to hold the hard disk. The hard disk inside could be Samsung, etc This post has been edited by kelvyn: Jan 10 2012, 08:55 AM

QUOTE(Maxrevv @ Jan 11 2012, 02:54 AM) Currently using Samsung S2 Portable for my storage. Thinking of upgrading to 1TB. Any suggestions? I heard prices are going up. The best compromise of price and reliability if possible? HDD prices already gone up few months ago. Now is just waiting for it to come down

QUOTE(dlwl @ Jan 10 2012, 11:07 PM) hey guys, I have a Seagate FreeAgent Go 500GB, borrowed from a friend. When plugged in, it doesn't detect at all, and when i touch it there's no sign that the hard disk is powered up. Tried using another USB cable too, but still the same. Does it mean that the hard disk is dead? Have you tried on another computer? Could also be the problem with usb port...

QUOTE(dlwl @ Jan 13 2012, 12:37 PM) yeah, tried also. no response from the hard disk. also changed the cable as i mentioned previously. Then the problem is narrowed down to either the hard disk itself or the connectors of the casing
