Is it safe to send the hard disk for warranty claim?

I mean, they will try to repair the hard disk and if they managed to repair the hard disk, they can retrieve all your data and probably sell them to the underworld.

If they don't repair the hard disk, how do they dispose it?
Do they destrop it and dispose or just throw them away?

If they go for recycle, those guys will try to slavage the hard disk and if they managed to recover the hard disk, they can retrieve all your data from the hard disk and probably sell them to the underworld.

I read that someone managed to recover a hard disk and found data from a bank with all the customers account information. Not sure this news is true or not. This is not what we want.
