OH yeah~ my WD Black Edition 1TB go RMA twice within half a year...

if a hdd already contain bad sectors,
the best thing you can do is try to Low Level Format (take long),
it could help sometimes, otherwise take the HDD to RMA cause some hdd carry 5 years warranty

if you buy more than 1 year ago then they will charge you "transportation fee", around RM20-50.
or you can post to WD directly too
but i havent try to post WD directly before,
i only tried to send Seagate to summit there and they will post to my address
*before take there have to do online RMA report request and print out for them

asking about the receipt, if you can find it then the best,
if you can not find it then they will try to search their database for your item serial number
hopefully that your item got record in their system

PS: i just sent my WD ext hdd to Viewnet for RMA a week ago,
and now they say the item is ready to collect
but ofcause all my data inside gone~~~~~

Actually i Never get back my same serial number too when i sent RMA
so sometime wanna find receipt to match the serial number will make me get mad
cause i will never find it

i just sent my wd re 500g back cause by s.m.a.r.t error >.<
now all hdd looks same to me... can use long or not is all luck....
