QUOTE(yongkailoon @ Nov 13 2010, 11:27 PM) Anyone using the WD Caviar Blue 500GB (WD5000AAKS)? Or at least have experienced it before? the performance is quite good,it is afterall a 500GB/Platter 7200RPM drive similar to the popular Spinpoint F3.Want to get an affordable hard disk replacement, don't want to spend so much on the Caviar Black for now. Runs cool too. |

They are pretty much the same, though WD's RMA procedure is easier since you can send them the HDD and have it back within a fortnight

QUOTE(alvinfks78 @ Mar 31 2011, 08:20 AM) WTA - i currently using a IDE 40Gb 7200rpm HDD as my primary drive with OS...etc. Things would be snappier as today's single platter 500GB HDDs are much faster than old 40GB/platter HDDs.If I can get a new SATA 500gb 7200rpm HDD, will there be significant performance difference if I make the new HDD the primary drive. Usually use the PC for gaming, surfing, and mayb convert video files. THanks |
