where did u get maxis set firmware dude? i cant find any 0.80 firmware WWE on the next.. most asia r only 0.75.. btw, is it true that there is a higher newer hboot after 0.80 now?
btw, its great seeing increasing number of desire users rooting their maxis set.. haha.. many people are getting better and better at android, at least we know desire users arent nerdy and "skema" type xD.. congrats to those succeeded. People usually say that only nexus one users are geeks, we have prove that they r wrong.  . Credits to maliqu3 btw for teaching me how to root and load custom rom.. he is my sifu

Im on leodroid froyo sense rom with only froyo A2SD..120MB on fresh boot instead of 150 but still have around 60MB left after many daily apps n games installed cuz froyo a2sd allow move apps to sd card..  seems that 150MB on official froyo is sufficient already.. u should wait for official OTA if u "syg" ur warranty.. the word love does not fit well there.. huhu

But we still dont know the official update for maxis set comes with wut hboot.. better not to flash if its .83 ... i cant see anywhere they mention about the new hboot version on xda, mind providing the link? may i missed it

Hey guys, wanna ask something, it has been asked before if i'm not mistaken, but its hard for me to browse 78 pages again. So, hope all of you don't mind.

1. If i root my Desire, can i unrooted back to stock rom, where can i get exactly the stock rom as i have right now.

2. Is my warranty will void if i root? do i need to unroot if i need to send the HTC Service Center?

Hi.. I am Indonesian and i've just bought HTC Desire in Shanghai.
Apparently, after i going home in Indonesia, I've discovered something quite trouble some.

1. There is no Friend Stream software..
2. I cannot link my Facebook to every contact list... i even cannot tap "Link to Facebbok account"...
3. Pinch and Zoom is NOT ALWAYS work.. I need to restart the phone to make it work properly again.
I notice build number of my htc desire is GOAPK. Later on, i search on google and found out that it is Chinese HTC.
And as far as i know, in China, Facebook is forbidden...

Questions:
1. How to solve it so that all my 3 problems solved without adding another problem?
2. Can i change the software?

I will appreciate your opinion... Thank you..

And here it is HTC answer of my problem:
"Thank you for contacting us again. Considering the technical details of your device the situation is as follows: your device was an Italian device initially. The device has been bought from Italy and imported in China. Someone tried to flash the original ROM on the phone with the Chinese version. This operation has failed and consequently, the functionality of the device has been affected. We would recommend you to return the device to the retailer and ask for a refund. Due to the fact that the device has been flashed, even the repair centre will refuse to repair it, as this device it's been damaged completely. I trust that this resolves your query. Please do not hesitate to contact us again if required."

Can i just reflash the ROM?

i used unrevoked method to root and my phone is working as normal though. I tried using rom manager to flash before but the phone just restart and go into recovery. Not sure this is normal or not. so until today i flash roms in recovery. simple as it is, i just select the zip file i want to flash and just flash it. 

pluginbaby.. 1.4c is out.. weird part is i never had any issues with the usb connect to pc though.. yaya the space in ext3 reduced when i installed apps.. so i just assume that apps are installed in sd card then.. 

agreed ... maybe need to full wipe ... since mine rebooted 2 times already today ... but then again maybe coz of a2sd or the v14 kernel ... will have to troubleshoot later tomorrow

I'm following maliqu3's guide for rooting the phone using unrevoked, but there is a step i'm quite confused with. Maybe you guys can clarify the situation for me.

I've basically understood all of the step but here:
Is there something missing between step 6 and step 7? does it require us to reboot the device after I've installed the drivers from the "android-usb-driver.zip" file? Cause i can't access the phone settings from where i am now (at the Hboot screen).

Also in step 11
There is no point during tutorial that it called for the device to be disconnected at all, so why suddenly it requires me to connect my desire and all along its already connected?

I hope the sifus here can provide a clearer more precise instruction to root using unrevoked. (Video instruction would help alot !)
