Trackball Alert only works with Custom ROMs (Cyan, MCR). I tried it on a rooted stock ROM and failed.

meaning u must install custom ROM in order to enable it u guess. we must root our phone to install custom ROM, stock ROM is the ROM that include when u bought the phone.

i think it is okay once u get the hang of it..i myself oso never root b4, for the sake of warranty, just now bro cleave did mention that HTC still accept warranty for rooted phones. hmmm.

like car charger for desire..im using it tat 1 rm30.got screen protector,cable,charger.....still couldnt manage to find desire battery..once i get it i will post here....

You are right. Few years back, I flash my Dopod U1000 and the whole unit was frozen as I forgot to take out the sim card. The unit cannot be switch off displaying just a white screen. I took it to htc Service center in harbour court singapore. When I show them the white screen, the counter staff smile at me and said I must have upgraded the rom illegally. Anyway the motherboard need to change and surprise they did it free of charge as still under warranty and I got the unit back about 7 days later

How many apps we can have in unrooted-limited-memory Desire? its only one time pain in the ass and you get so many cool-ass features: flash 10.1, app to sdcard (i can say its a unlimited memory), 720p camera, etc .. more Froyo feature here

but just scared the SIS warranty in malaysia,
will it still cover rooted set, electronics stuff anything can still happens.

the "safest" if rooted already would just flash them to stock rom when its available b4 sending it back.. everything would be very clean looking at the software information inside the settings. Of course some of the staffs would be smart to check either the bootloader is unlocked or not due too rooting but it would be very obvious if sending back with a different software name/number showing that its no longer using stock software.

Last time when I used WinMo (TP2), i hardspl'ed my TP2. I sent my device to SIS to re-allign my qwerty keyboard and they said cannot.. all because i've hardspl'ed (similar to root)...

just got me thinking. If i root now... wouldn't it be another PITA (pain in the ass) to go through another round of re-installation and data/settings recovery if i decide to flash it back to the official froyo with htc sense? (when it comes out la... must think ahead )

16gb on class 6 is great.. it costs more than 150 on just that card if 16gb class 6.. ive only managed to get a class 6 8gb.. the retail price ur saying is 1499 under maxis or 2k sis set currently?

Really worth to buy, I also get from there, PDA Expert, very worth, 16GB, plus 2 years warranty, ori set, install software for u somemore, they install the GPS software for me, very nice to use. Good.

2199, 2 years warranty, 16GB microSD, screen protector and GPS software install. Good service also. Almost same price at outside
