Is it WD hdd ? Try download this and use extended to scan the hdd...
http://support.wdc.com/product/download.as...2&sid=3〈=en

If still nothing, I think better format first, to exclude software problem...
*
it's a toshiba HDD
it keep lagging after 3-5 minutes i started the windows rclxub.gif
use the recovery CD to format it?
because my unit doesnt come with the os media kit

GT335M win a little bit...
For some benchmark result, Resident Evil 5 variable benchmark @1366x768, no AA. the GT425M gets 37FPS, while yesterday I tried GT335M gets 40FPS..
Though Optimus might incur some problem with games, especially ones with punkbusters...
I straight uninstalled it without testing tongue.gif

cant recognize my face doh.gif
anyway, thanks biggrin.gif

wanted to know anyone using sxps 1647? wonder hows the batterylife with 6 cell battery
*
mine is about 2 hours 40 minutes in "dell" mode
3 hours in power saver
1 hour ++ in high performance ( from boot to desktop loaded left about 80-85%)

now using ubuntu and i found that i can have longer battery life with it
in normal condition can last for 3 hours +
power saver can reach 3.5 hours ++

hello people
recent my laptop got one problem
which is when i hibernate my 1647, my battery will be empty during the next time when i want to boot up the laptop
for example i hibernate it on today morning and the battery was empty when i boot the laptop on tomorrow morning

and it happened a few times already
plus my time in the windows will delay one day
eg: today is 10th april, the windows shown 9th april

is it normal? or is my laptop having problem?

Sounds like didn't hibernate properly ?
If after hibernate, then take out the battery/power, then plug it back and turn on back the laptop, the hibernate works ?
*
yes it works
after i hibernate, take out battery
then put it back
turn on the laptop
it shows resuming windows
which means hibernate is done properly i guess? hmm.gif

Like that, should be ok.

What about if you use the battery normally? Still can last how long ?
*
i hope it's the windows problem hmm.gif

under windows
Dell mode can use around 2.5 hours
extended battery life plan can push to 3 hours+

under ubuntu 10.10
approx. 3 hours

yours? hmm.gif
